i have just returned from a 10 day vacation and while i was vactioning i ran into a Lady whom had an overpowering effect on me while i was in her presence.  i was curious if there is a universal acknowledgment that She would have understood if she was active in the BDSM communities and if so what that would be?

no not that i know of, i kind of wish there was....some folks wear the symbol in jewelry or tats, other folks wear collars, so maybe look closly at her acessories, but for the most part there is no wink and no secret handshake i know of.

i am aware that many people exude such attributes. i was just hoping that such a protocol would exists so as to help us meet others with like interests when we are in a new environment.

The risks of being outed would probably make it not wothwhile-if it was ever found out by conservative witch hunters.

Yes, i think a nice subtle acknowledgement that wouldn't be noticable to anyone oputside the community would be fine. It is not often that you meet a person with such a strong presence and it would have been very nice to have a way of subtly introducing myseld.

I have both the flogger keychain, and handcuffs keychain that my keys are hooked too. They have inspired many conversations, from those who know of bdsm and those curious about it. I haven't received any negative comments about them. None that I know of anyway. LOL

i came up with a vehicle graphic, which i have on the spare wheel cover of my pajero. its a bdsm symbol built into a tribal background. it would mean very little to anyone outside the lifestyle, but should mean something to those within it.

Personally, I dont particularly want everyone and anyone knowing what I am into.  The possibility of being outted is a bit too great.
However, introducing yourself in a purely vanilla manner would have worked, as well, and then if you hit things off you could have inquired later. Just a thought.
