Well, since I lack tact, I just ask. I either get a stunned look, a slap, an interesting question or a smile that rivals Mona Lisa.

She may be a Domme...but she may not be. Some people wear subtle jewelry. But I find that more with submissives and slaves rather than Dominants. I like the approach that was mentioned to strike up a conversation and mention a term that you know is not too bold but would be certain to catch her attention if she were in the lifestyle.

~fast reply~

You really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Direct approach is best, combined with a little bit of charm if you posess it.

i'm curious...what sort of term were you thinking of? (i'm thinking painslut would be a little too obvious )

cbaby -> RE: Public acknowledgment (10/1/2007 7:47:17 PM)

and there is the old "oops my bad" standby if you happen to have made an err in judgement *grinz*

MidMichCowboy -> RE: Public acknowledgment (10/1/2007 7:47:35 PM)

Charm, that's what I must be missing (as well as being tactfully challenged). Maybe the direct approach isn't always the best. Unfortunately, its the only approach I know. It has led to some interesting experiences. Did you know being slapped, doesn't necessarily mean NO?  [:)]

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Public acknowledgment (10/1/2007 7:50:00 PM)

Well there's the triskellion, the leather pride flag, and flagging in general.  But nothing absolutely says "I am a mistress interested in a Ds relationship" except a tshirt with that on it.

cbaby -> RE: Public acknowledgment (10/1/2007 7:56:02 PM)

i didn't know that...........guess that goes back to kicking a little girl if you found her attractive or at the very least........pulling her hair

DocRudy -> RE: Public acknowledgment (10/1/2007 7:56:09 PM)

Seriously, I encourage all guys in such a position to sack up and be direct.

If you even remotely use any scrap of charm that is in your marrow, the worst you'll get is a lukewarm response to a person you'll never see again. Big whoop.

The possibilities only spiral up from there. Plus, almost every girl I've ever met or talked to says they are more likely to react favorably to a guy who shows a bit o' cojones and makes a move. Which makes sense as males are historically the hunters, aye?
