Lordandmaster -> Notre Dame: 0-4! (9/23/2007 10:00:54 AM)

Been away from the forums for a while, and I was pretty surprised this morning to see that no one had a post on the mighty 0-4 Fighting Irish.

They're miserable over there because they've never been 0-4 in the history of the school.  0-4?  Guys, get used to it.  This team might start 0-9!

CuriousLord -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (9/23/2007 10:09:25 AM)

Oh, no!  Now every1 b talkn' smack 'bout der mommas.

Looking at the remainder of their schedule, Lam....... hmm. They might beat Duke..... and that may be it!

If so, I wonder if Weiss will survive.......

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (9/23/2007 10:28:15 AM)

I will say I lost a 100$ bill on them betting they wouldn't score a TD howver more then made up on the point spread,maybe Duke is correct...Yeah they are AMERICA team all right yuck...bounty

Level -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (9/23/2007 10:33:51 AM)

It's gonna get ugly........they might end up hanging the guy in the leprechaun suit from the goalposts before it's over.......

Lordandmaster -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (9/23/2007 3:34:18 PM)

Considering that extension they just signed with him, I'd say he'll survive.

I'm loving it, really.  So tired of Notre Dame fans.  I guess Weiss isn't the genius they thought he was.
When I saw that 0-4 for the first time in school history, I admit it, I smirked hugely.

And that will be great considering how ND dumped Ty Willingham after his 3rd season -- how can ND administrators avoid looking like racist hypocrits for keeping Weis after that? It's also fun to see that  Willingham's team is now 2-2 having knocked off 1 preseason ranked team (Boise St) while losing to two others (UCLA and tOSU), and Washington was in a shambles from Rick Neuweasel when he got there -- loks like he's made a lot of progress turning it around. Meanwhile, back in South Bend they are blaming Ty for all of Charlie's woes . . . which is funny because all of Charlie's success so far has come with Ty's players.

Thw worst thing about this season is it looks like ND won't get a chance to lose another bowl game by 3 TDs. I guess we'll have to wait until next year to see them extend their streak of bowl game losses dating back to 1994.

SirEbonyPhoenix -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (9/23/2007 6:39:21 PM)

Good thing I'm an IU fan! GO HOOSIERS! And please, don't ask me what a Hoosier is because the stories vary depending on who you ask! LMAO

Lordandmaster -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (9/23/2007 11:41:25 PM)

At this rate, it might be a while before we get to see Notre Dame lose another bowl game.

Is this supposed to be a bad thing?

kingdobbs -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (9/24/2007 4:37:38 PM)

Good. Anything to keep them out of a bowl again. I still hate that the Big East had to sell their souls to the 'Domers for bowl bids.

One might argue instead that ND was "surprising" the last two years.

>In assessing Penn State’s 31-10 victory over Notre Dame, Coach Joe Paterno said at his weekly news conference: “Notre Dame has got some problems. They didn’t challenge us, really.”

Such underperformance raises a serious question about whether Notre Dame, and similarly Michigan, can hope to contend regularly for national championships without lowering their academic standards. This quandary occurs as many top recruits seem less sentimental about tradition and more interested in positioning themselves for big money in the N.F.L.

“The balance of power will shift to universities that have the lowest resistance to taking the top athletes with weaker academic preparation,” said Michael Oriard, an English professor at Oregon State and a former Notre Dame captain. “It’s already happening.”

Effectively, Notre Dame is now a third-tier team, Stanford with a national television contract. The Fighting Irish are 19 years removed from their last national championship, and they have endured nine consecutive losses in bowl games.<

From what I've seen myself, ND simply isn't competitive in the trenches. This season promises to be the worst the school has ever had in many, many years --- making the Faust and Davie teams look remarkably good.

Might be time to break out those green jerseys! Lol.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (10/6/2007 12:49:11 PM)

Well, 0-5 now, and not likely to beat UCLA tonight.  Then you can chalk up BC and USC as two more losses after that.  They're heading for an 0-8 start!

Earlier this afternoon, actually, I was wondering where you'd been!

happypervert -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (10/6/2007 5:33:11 PM)

In the preseason show, Lou Holtz predicted ND would go 10-2 this season. The other guys in the studio were just laughing at him because they predicted around 6 wins.

Lou's prediction might end up being the best . . . they could lose 10 and win 2.

dcnovice -> RE: Notre Dame: 0-4! (10/6/2007 5:58:23 PM)

Now I have the Notre Dame fight song stuck in my head! Grrrrrrrr.

Level -> RE: Notre Dame: Victory at last (10/7/2007 3:37:02 AM)

Notre Dame 20
UCLA 6

[sm=hair.gif]

Stanford 24
USC 23

cloudboy -> RE: Notre Dame: Victory at last (10/7/2007 9:39:36 AM)

How did USC manage to lose to STANFORD?
