Scenario: You know of a politco who is actively trying to close up clubs & shops that cater to people in the lifestyle.  In addtion this person is trying to reinstate laws on sodomy.  Now you are at a private party and in one of the scenes you see this Politco bent over by a 400lb domme getting fucked in the ass with a beer-can strap-on, while giivng head to a raher burly biker named Randy (I dunno why he's named in this instance, it just seemed to fit) what do you do with the information?

Do you let him go about his scene and life understanding you would not want your activities to reflect on your everyday life or do you rat him out as the hypocrit he clearly is, or....<feel free to post a third option here>

If there was a real chance in this person actually suceeding at closing clubs & shops and actually getting sodomy laws reinstated, I'd have to break out the camcorder and call the local news.  If the person was just a blowhard running their mouth and no clubs or shops were being closed and the legislature was not reinstating anything, I'd let it all pass but I might have to let the person know that I knew they were full of it.

lol...i agree...the threat of public or semi-public/semi-private (family) revelation is usually enough to get them to calm the fuck down...and if you have problems with blackmailing people...mention the situation to someone who doesn't and let them form their own conclusions...

Yummy - I smell black mail.  LOL Sorry, can't help it.  I know its immoral to blackmail someone.  But I would also be photo happy, and once I had enough documentation I would insist that he cut it out or I would turn the info over to the press.

Nope, because that would be a reflection on the activity that we all are supposedly tolerant of. Sure we may not like the messenger in this case, but the message is tolerance of those into BDSM. It is like exposing someone you know for being gay because you don't like him/her because of some reactionary political stance. It is far more righteous to confront the person because of other actions and not a sexual/BDSM bent.

Could you use the opportunity of the club scene to discuss things with the person? Sure, why not. Maybe he would have to tap dance to explain himself. Threatening or actually blackmailing him would be a different matter.

I would never blackmail or 'out' somebody because I think it's immoral.  Regardless of who the person is.  I would probably approach him and let him know that I knew who he was, and maybe go so far as to introduce him around to the other people at the party as "Senator so and so who is sponsoring the bill against kink" but I think it would be far more productive to just talk to him in private.

After all it does far more benefit to convert a powerful man to your side when you have the opportunity to try than it does to simply make him lose his position and leave the field wide open for someone else to pick up his 'cause' against kink.

If he participes in the scene, he probably has an ulterior motive cause if he's just a tiny bit smart, he'll know that lifestylers listens to the news and reads the papers. One cannot play in both fields publicly without receiving some consequences. Out of curiosity, I would rather go to the ones he plays with and (once they're finished) ask them why, in the present context, they are playing with him. (for punishment, maybe? )

Ask him if his career is worth sacrificing his true self. Ask him why his has two personalities and is it because he feels guilty of his sexual choice that he wants to back anti-sodomy legislation?

Been there, done this:

Pulled the political fucktart off to the side and said "You look very tired, sir.. perhaps I should ask one of your aides to give you a ride home?" Then contacted his office a few days later with a friendly "This is Eoin ***. The senator was very tired at a party recently thrown by mutual friends and I just wanted to make sure he got home safely... He did? Great! Thank you!"

Chances are, the rumor is already moving through the office and the question becomes "what sort of party was this?" A smart senator will stop and back off, while letting it look like the bill died in committee or due to filibuster... A dumb one will be crucified in the press by his denials and deceit.

I'm still the nice, caring person who was concerned for someone's personal safety...

I hope you can read this. ( Just kidding. Don't get all Gorean forum and over defensive on me, sexy.) Opinions are opinions. I use different colors so what I say stands out. Quite obnixiously, I might add.

I'm not sure what I'd do with them in the long run.....but I'd be quietly snapping some pics with my camera-phone, making sure I caught the big grin on his face when Mama was good to him.

Wow.   Am I the only person who is bothered by the fact that so many people think it's okay to either break the law by blackmailing someone or intentionally destroy someone's career simply because they support things politically or are in your eyes 'hypocrites'?

There's a site (I forget what one) that 'outs' politicians and celebrities that are gay (or at least that the site owner feels he has enough evidence to accuse them of being gay) in the name of 'making it more acceptable.'

I do have to wonder though...if someone didn't like you and decided to snap pictures of you at a fetish party with their camera phone and show them to your coworkers or (if you worked in a public arena) the public, would you be a 'hypocrite' for being upset about having something done to you that you would do to someone else?  And if so do you think your "hypocrisy" would jusify it having been done to you?

and if you have problems with blackmailing people...mention the situation to someone who doesn't and let them form their own conclusions...

Wow. Does that work if I have a problem with killing people too?

Huh.  This politico is doing something for his own personal satisfaction that he believes is so immoral that it should be legally stopped and you hate him enough to do something that you know is immoral but will do anyway for your own personal satisfaction?

Please don't hate yourself *too* bad honey.  Next thing you know you'll be bent over in front of a 400 lb Domme too.

Why?  I honestly want to know why you felt motivated to publicly out someone's sexual preferences to their office.  And none of that 'concern for their well being' crap.  What about doing this made you feel good?
