ok- but Krissi is not doing this for weight loss. this is a routine surgery. recovery time is 10 days. not 6 weeks.  the 1st 2 days you will be abit groggy and sleep alot. by day 3 the hardest thing is not getting the scar wet. in my case the hospital recommended getting meals on wheels. the st week i recall liking it. i seen no point in renewing a 2nd week.

when i researched gall bladder surgery per myself the old literature was still out- that saying 6 week recovery.

i had a hernia repair which was a worse surgery to go thru.

anyhow- try to have your errands done beforehand. and also if they dont automatically send you home with a codeien type pill- CALL AND ASK.

Ive seen drs "forget" to do that;;;;;;.... hmmmmmmmm.

gads....pa...pay attention...she's asking about lap banding too.

sub4....while your post is somewhat accurate....please don't presume all things happen to all people with these surgeries...not everyone has chronic heartburn post bariatric surgery.  I'm also curious what "this lifestyle" has to do with it?

Exactly.  Some people make it through with few complications.  Some death.  Others just can't manage to stomach any type of food for month's on end.  It all depends upon the person.

As for the lifestyle sentence...I was curious if anyone would notice that.  People are fat everywhere...and in my time in the lifestyle.  Which is say....15 or so year's in public.  We practiced only in private for a while.
Probably give or take a percentage point or two...about 85% are morbidly obese.  Now, I know different areas of the country are different.  Some state just weighed in at the heaviest the other day.
Yet, that is my experience thus far.

~FR~

good luck on your chole, Krissi...as for weight loss, my friend who had this same surgery a few months ago lost 40 lbs before & after the surgery, so this may happen for you...at 240 & 5' 8 1/2", you wouldn't be considered obese enough to go through the weight loss surgery, as many here have pointed out...but whatever decision that you make will be the correct one for you & i for one will support you in whatever you choose...big hugs to you......
