oh greatttttttttttttttt- he is withdrawing his guilty plea and reversed his plan to resign. being that he now isn't of "sound mind"- we the public is to let him work for the goverment- including access to classified information.

why cant he admit- he attempted to get of give a blow job from a male police officer in a public restroom!

the truth shall set you free -my sillly man!

...the official act of not being of sound mind should in itself void the FBI background check on the man.  ???

he expects to escape the law. the laws that apply to every reader here. if one lives in a glass house and throws stones..

the rotten cocksucker!

unfortunatly- most senators would attempt to have the law not apply to them.

Clinton should be impeached but not this guy?

did he whip out his dick and make a pass at mr policeman or not!

the stench is so bad- folks downwind of Washington, duck!

So most of the people who've responded on this thread so far are Republicans?

It's a bit redundant for a Republican to say that he or she was "not of sound mind" on any particular day. Conservatism itself seems to involve an excising of one's humanity and a closing of one's mind on a continual basis. Neither of those ongoing states is sound, in my view, or in the view of most mental health professionals.

So as to the claim in question, I would tend to agree that he was not in sound mind either when he solicited the undercover cop, or when he voted in Congress.

So your conclusion is flawed.

I was under the impression that your question was about the people in the US, not about CM thread responders when I responded.  Had you clarified the information you were looking for, I would have continued to post on the monkeys throwing doodoo to become smarter thread.

Then it would seem to follow, via conditional probability, that your hypothesis is wrong.

You entirely missed the point.  This isn't about Republicans.  This is about Democrats are having a hay day trying to torture this man over his sexual embarrasement politically.  In the US and on CM.

This was childish.  Don't do it again.

I haven't studied this fellow before.  Is he involved in anti-homosexual legislation?

....i was under the impression that Republicans, on the whole, are fond of anti-homosexual rhetoric. However it is just possible that this particular specimen is not......i'm sure there'll be plenty of people here who can quote him one way or the other. However it's not the gay/not gay dynamic that seems to me hypocritical. It's the attempt to hide behind a 'not of sound mind' defence. Would he allow that defence to prisoners in Guantanamo? If not, then he's a hypocrite.

It sounds like you're assuming he's a hypocrit without any basis outside of his claimed partisan stance.  I'm not so sure that this is a good idea.

...30 seconds on google produced this interesting link....
http://www.ontheissues.org/International/Larry_Craig_Homeland_Security.htm

he 'Voted NO on preserving habeus corpus for Guantanamo detainees.'.......... he also 'Voted YES on constitutional ban of same-sex marriage.'

.....looks like a hypocrite to me...........

Craig had a 100% anti-gay voting record.

http://www.mtexpress.com/index2.php?ID=2005116814

"Craig has achieved a strong anti-gay voting record. According to the Web site www.ontheissues.org, Craig voted in favor of a failed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages, voted against expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation, no on adding sexual orientation to the definition of hate crimes and yes on prohibiting same-sex marriage."

Then there was this gratuitous, self-loathing pander to the Old Testament Shari'a wing of the GOP:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Craig

"In 1989 Craig was reported to have led an extended effort that pushed for more severe punishment of Representantive Barney Frank for his involvement in a gay prostitution scandal."

The non-gay rights legislation doesn't make him a hypocrit, as he's not trying to get married to a man or prosecture a hate crime based on sexual perference.

Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation.

I suppose he wants to keep his job despite having a sexual orientation which is allegedly non-heterosexual.  This would start to strike me as hypocracy.

Philosophy, a lot of Democrats are anti-homosexual as well.
I don't know if that is part of either party's platform though.
I kind of doubt it, probably a more individual thing.
I think both Repubs and Dems suck!
