ORIGINAL: rhythmboi the line between crossdresser, transgender, transexual, and genderqueer is alot blurrier than we tend to draw it. at least from reading these boards, there is a sizable proportion of CD folks for whom their crossdressing does have alot to do with their gender and/or sexual identity. do you think it's unreasonable to bristle at a space being designed in such a way that it excludes you or renders you invisible? i mean, in the big picture the fact that i check a little box and my username comes up pink is not a huge deal, but that's just one more thing on top of the multitude of little, seemlingly inconsequential things that remind me that my gender varience is not accomodated or acknowledged by the world at large (and when it is acknowledged, it's usually in a violent manner). I think it is a bit unreasonable when you consider that collarme is essentially a hook up place for personals ads. It is supposed to be a brief snapshop to accommodate the highest number of people with the most convenient boxes to suit the majority of its population. It's not unreasonable to want to be included- it's unreasonable to EXPECT to be included in a system driven for the mass immediate simple consumption when you happen to be a small complex minority.
