One thing I have wondered about CollarMe...  Was gender identity an afterthought?  You have gay/straight/bi and you have sub/dom/switch... But there doesn't seem to be much for the Sissies, Forced Feminization, or other Trainees...   Now I'm a (mostly) straight woman  (I usually have huge crushes on Butch bois) but I love helping my subs fuck with gender...  something about a beautiful man in stockings and panties that turns me on. I think it's because I admire the explorer inside..

Anyone else?

Alison

I fit with in the catagory of some of the gender options but I agree, that there should be other options for those who do not.

Hi there

I think there may be a bias against those groups in Collarme hierarchy. I had many photos rejected for my profile. They were only pictures of me in hose and panties… not provocative or with exposed genitals.  I’ve seen a lot worse…even some nudity in other shall I say” conventional profiles”.

The only way I could get one posted was to completely remove a section…lol.

The obervation is interesting. For example alt.com has all the options.

Seems like it was added in as an afterthought, we don't even get different colors for our names.  I kind of like it this way, though...  It forces the random picture browsers to read a few words.

Strange indeed, I have seen some t/v's or t/s's choose the female sex option since they identify with it more. I would love more accurate choices however.

This is a predominantly heterosexual site, and gender play or flexibility is on the lower side of priority for most heterosexuals.

If I were at a predominantly pansexual or homosexual site, I'd expect to see gender options more prominent.

What  you seek as an identifier is in the shopping list of interests or the person can type it in their profile if they wish.

There is definitely a lack in the gender options here.  Male, Female, Trans lumps MTF and FTM together, and leaves genderqueer, intersex, and androgynous (and probably others I'm missing) out altogether.  Apparently collarme assumes that trans means MTF: if you choose trans, your name appears in pink.  I'm feeling kind of invisible.

Also, being new here, I'm a little worried about the comment that this is predominantly a heterosexual board.  If that just meant that most people on the board are het, OK that is the way it is IRL, so I have no problem with that.  But I'm reading the tone of that post as this is a het board, the rest of you aren't worth our notice.  Hope I'm reading that wrong. Could be just my insecurities, but I want to know if I'm welcome here or not.

There also isn't an option for people who like to wear kilts. Or for people who don't like kilts. There's always going to be a group complaining that their option isn't included. That's why it's nice there's that big, blank profile area. Anything the site doesn't provide to click, you can type in yourself. Really, try it!

I might be wrong, but your comment really read as a "Oh poor me, nobody wants me, someone coddle me" statement.  It's possible I'm wrong- it's happened before. Either way, get the fuck over yourself. It wasn't an assault. It wasn't a "breeders only" comment. It was a comment that, overall, you're going to find more straight profiles on the other side than non.

my 2 cents:
i've been on CM for a couple of years now, and i've never really seen anyone object to another because of their gender or sexual preference.  My observation is that someone is liable to have a more difficult time on this side (forums) because of things they say or how it's said.  i have no idea what the ratio is between genders and sexual preference..there seems to me to be a wide variety of people, which is what i prefer because it gives me more opinions and things to learn.

As the old saying goes... ya can't please all of the people all of the time, and there may be other places someone would be more comfortable on, but that, i hope, wouldn't be because someone felt discriminated against.  There are places on here that i don't usually go to because it's not where my interest lie, just like there are places i go first because i do.

Anyhoooo...for those that are new here to the boards or to CM in general welcome ... and i hope you'll join in the general chaos that can ensue.. some times it's funny, other threads are sad, but almost always, i learn someone from everyone who joins in.

Considering I myself am not heterosexual, it would be quite odd for me to suggest things with the intent of discouraging non-heterosexuals to be a part of the forums.

I have found the people on Collarme to be, on the whole, tolerant and accepting of all lifestyles. I think it is the nature of the net that words don’t always convey the true meaning of a message. I think this is true of LuckyAlbatross’s post. I have always found her posts to be thoughtful and interesting. Although it is always dangerous to add or subtract a meaning from a written message.
I think the original poster was not whining but pointing out a problem that could be easily corrected. Come on what are a few more entries in a database… it could only help.
All of a sudden she is accused of being full or herself and insinuated that it is a ridiculous and unnecessary request.  This view I would guess are from people whose preferences are properly represented.
Maybe it is just my part of the world but I find a significant representation of people that would fit in this type of designation. Yes we all manage to convey are wants and needs through our profiles but the search features would be nice.
My bottom line is it may not be a big deal but worth a discussion without idiots.

No matter how many options you add, someone will be left out. And they will complain, and accuse those of us who happen to fall into an included category of either not caring, or being idiots.

And honestly, doesn't "trans" include both mtf and ftm? I have friends on both sides who seem to feel it does,

Options like genderqueer, sissyboi, whatever would be just ridiculous. There might not be a perfect category for everyone, but there's a broad category you can use. Look at it scientifically- it might be a different family or order, but there's a genus or species that you can place it in.

Great, more labels.  I sure as heck will never be able to describe my sexuality with one word.

Sexuality is pretty complex, and it takes a while to even begin to understand the different desires out there.

If I wanted other people to fully understand my set of sexual desires, I sure as heck wouldn't be trying to simplfy the temrinology.

CM seems to be customer/market oriented, so perhaps what you perceive is a reflection of the member base, moe than a site policy or objective.

Those who share your interest, or who might pursue a primarily gender-based interest not adequately "represented" here, might make a little noise here.  If a demand exists, perhaps the site will evolve to fill it.

yeah, i hate pink...

seriously though, from all the straight male crossdressers that post here, it seems like CMs "predominant heterosexuality" (was it designed that way? are we queermos infiltrating 'hetero safe space'?) has little to do with the need for gender fluid/flexible/diverse options.
