Status: offline 		I liked that term, so I put it in the title.

I am doing research on electrical play. We like things to be erotic and from what I've read electricity can certainly accomplish that goal. I want information on what you all feel about electric play in general. What the difference/benefits of the TENS unit and Violent Wand are? What are the primary concerns? What kind of money are we talking about when in investing in electrical play? How much fun is it????

Status: offline 		I am by no means an expert, I'd consider myself a novice at electro play, but I too think its a fascinating and exotic play tool (When used safely and sanely).

The Violet Wand is as I can understand it, more akin to static shock than anything else... it has a number of different applications depending on how you use it. (Stay away from the eyes is the only danger)

The Tens unit causes muscle contractions based on electrical stimuli... you can adjust the power of the contractions and the frequency. (Do not cross the chest area at risk of stopping the heart) - you can get various attachments for the fun orifices. The two areas that make this fun is 1) Its your body involuntarily being controlled 2) Its a very unusal feeling.

I've seen the Tens go from 150US to about 300. the Violet Wand I believe can cost as much as $ 550 with the wand and some attachments. 

Just be very safe, and if possible attend a Community meeting that discusses electro play before going nuts :)

Status: offline 		When it comes to "bang for the buck", particularly if you're interested in erotic stimulation the TENS is far superior to the violet wand in my opinion... You can get an inexpensive 2-channel unit for less than $100 delivered these days, and it offers a range of stimulation, from a deep shock that brings involuntary muscle movements, to a tingling that feels almost like a vibe, to a sharp shock that feels like a needle piercing your skin... Highly recommended.

i'll leave the safety stuff to others, i only do the fun stuff

Petdave your description of what a TENS can do is exactly the yummy fun we're looking for. We do know someone who has a TENS unit and is good with it. We plan to ask for a private demonstrations when it is convenient for us all. Pita wants to play!!

Status: offline 		I am am utter electrosexual ...love it love it  love it ..it feels like a million kisses on my body  I use a wee Rimba tens unit with all kind of toys ..some o which  Ive brought, some of which geeky friends have made for me  I think a tens unit is a good starter point before spending insane amount on folsom units or violet wands

Status: offline 		I find violet wands awesome and quite versatile, only limit being imagination.  You can even do temporary branding with them which is not as painful as it sounds and looks pretty cool but only lasts a week or so.  TENS units are the ultimate in my opinion.  Hooked up with all 4 electrodes around...ahem...woohoo!!!   That little scenario also puts a whole new spin on penetration BUT....GUYS BEWARE....turn the machine off before going in ;)

Status: offline 		If you're going to do a more complete search for ideas about electro play, you should also consider the PES box and attachments.  I've had one for years and years, and have had a lot of fun with it.

It's not inexpensive, and the assortment of attachments have grown over the years, but depending on what you figure you like, you would get the box and what attachments you think you would use and reuse.

They are safe and avoid those things you want to avoid to remain safe.

hate TENS units...it makes me twitch in a bad way...i didn't smash it because it was my friends and she liked it...loved it on her pussy (different electrode pads than the ones she used on me lol) just the way i am wired i guess...but i would recomend trying it out before investing in it because liking certain electric play does not mean likeing all electric play...

His expertise, knowledge and love of the Electro Toys and the fact that they have been safety tested  gives me great peace to know i can play safely. I feel that my knowledge in anatomy  as a Nurse is extremely useful and being a nurse so is my first aid experience. If you've never felt the sensations from a TENS unit, at low settings it feels slightly like insects crawling on you. On higher settings, you can feel the muscles clench. My feeling on the TENS unit is.. SCREW THE SUB.. IT IS ALL MINE!! The small muscle contractions it causes when used at a moderate setting make for a great orgasm with the proper insertable! I suggest the small egg for women with something that keeps in it place on the cord. Positioning is VERY important. If the egg slips out of the vaginal canal and into the area near the cervix, you can end up with the woman not feeling much. If turned up too high, it can be painful if you're looking to torture a female. (They really should mark the dials better for low light usage! OW)

I have used it with males before and most of them love the insertables and find the feeling very erotic. (Placement is only important if you're looking to stimulate the prostate.) When I've used the pads on the penis, I get more of a mixed reaction. Some men adore the feeling and beg for it all the time, others find it weird and uncomfortable.

I used a violet wand once.. I managed to shock myself accidentally in a very tender place. (NEVER sit on a guys face while using the attachment that lets your body act as the conductor.
