MadRabbit -> The Superiority of Collarme.com (8/27/2007 8:48:42 PM)

Recently, I have decided to try venturing out to other BDSM forums and have stumbled across one that I found to be most entertaining...mydungeonspace.com. A site my new friend, Rover, has deemed to be The Land of the Lost.

After spending a small amount of time these last few days reading posts, I have found a new found respect for the forums of Collarme.com. In being exposed to essays that are cookie cutter cut outs from Castlerealm.com, people unknowingly promoting the one True Way, threads where post after post reduces the D/S relationship to nothing more than spankings and kinky games, and a group of people who seem to be utterly disconnected from the real world, my appreciation for Collarme.com and the realism and downright honesty that it brings from the wonderful posters (well the small majority of wonderful posters) has tripled.

So...in stark contrast to the recent complaints about its decline...I say "thank you". Thank you for being what you are Collarme.com in all its rudeness and snarkiness. Thank you for actually having some real substance to it besides discussions on spanking and how trully uber and amazing the "true" dominants are.

I love you Collarme.com. I'll never leave again. Its really scary out there on the Internet.

is that kinda of like my space for bdsm peeps

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: The Superiority of Collarme.com (8/27/2007 8:56:20 PM)

Ahem, lots of great relationships ARE spanking and kinky games and should be respected for what they are just as much as anything else.

But I understand your meaning.

SusanofO -> RE: The Superiority of Collarme.com (8/27/2007 9:00:55 PM)

It's free, the software that allows it to function is awesome, IMO, and the Moderators are volunteers. The vast selection of topic threads to read is amazing to me. Plus, if  anyone doesn't like them, they can start one of their own, instead. I consider this site to be a gift, and I've become more educated about BDSM topics over the past couple years, due to its existence, and have had the chance to get to know several nice folks from here, too.

I have to admit, this is definitely the most dynamic and worthile BDSM-related site I've come across.

Of course, the fact that I met my slave here doesn't bias me in the least! [:D]

Of course.

Its not my intention to disrespect those relationships at all even if it can be interrupted that way.

My point was, with all the negativity thats flying around, the positive is getting lost.

The beauty of these forums and why I contribute almost solely to here is the huge mixture of different styles, lifestyles, and ways.

If a forum only has the perspective of one kind of relationship, or one kind of style, or one kind of way, it presents huge limitations on what one can learn.

I find CM valuable and enjoyable, also. It is not so big that you are overwhelmed by too many people with views that you can’t possibly follow. Here I get to know posters and the vision they represent. When I read a post by LA, Michael or Domniguy, I have a personification of a consistent analysis by someone that has become real to me.

xoxi -> RE: The Superiority of Collarme.com (8/28/2007 1:43:30 AM)

Yup, I'm definitely enjoying CM after being bored-as-sin by the boards on b.com.  This site has all the features of b.com that I use (not quite interested in the porn, thx) with none of the costs.  It's nice to be able to email someone without paying 20 bucks a month for the 'privelege' of being ignored/turned down :P

I've registered on mydungeonspace.com and found it so boring I don't even remember my login/pw...I registered on AFF just to see what the hype was, laughed for a minute at the fact that every 'featured member' was a cock shot (they take the 'featured member' title waaaaaaaay too literally there) before getting scared and running far far away.  I don't even see why they have a "looking for a committed relationship" option on there...it's not like if you check that and only that people will bother respecting it :P

So yeah.  Here's to CM...an awesome site!

-a member who realizes HNG behavior is solely the fault of HNG's and not CM [:)]

Twicehappy2x -> RE: The Superiority of Collarme.com (8/28/2007 3:43:48 AM)

I registered at mydungeonspace because a friend aimed me there. All the daily little hello's and ads that everybody sent each other trying to bump up their ratings took forever to clean out of my inbox and off my page.

Too nicey nicey for me.

Now where was that great bloodbath over what does OP mean.........

petdave -> RE: The Superiority of Collarme.com (8/28/2007 5:53:55 AM)

While i don't always appreciate the snarkiness, i do agree that this site does attract a pretty high overall quality of poster... i don't think it would be an exaggeration to say that i'm on a good three dozen or so message boards and email lists for my various interests, and i can only think of one that has an equal signal-to-noise ratio, with people who can not only string together a coherent sentence but also say something worthwhile in it. i certainly haven't seen anything better in the BDSM genre, paid subscription or no.

Stephann -> RE: The Superiority of Collarme.com (8/28/2007 6:00:47 AM)

Me too.

This site's the best thing in the biz, methinks.  It didn't get that way overnight, but a good infusion of interesting new people, and a core of regulars keeps it fresh but relatively authentic (as authentic as any lifestyle without a twue way can be, anyway.)

I don't know when the Collarme site started, as in the year, but I wish I knew about it as soon as it came on line. I firmly believe that my life would be a bit different and in a more positive way. When I realized what I really desired/needed in my life I searched on the internet for a place to connect with others who were like minded, but all I could find were for pay "BDSM" and "Dom/sub" porn sites, and anything else that came up on the search screen was just plain crap. I feel very lucky that someone told me about this site and that is the only reason and how I arrived here.

Thanks CM and the sincere members here.

Yep, I love it here too, on any given day, I can always expect knowledge, other ideas, or a train wreck. I'm here for the long haul.

Missokyst -> RE: The Superiority of Collarme.com (8/28/2007 9:52:56 AM)

No kidding.  I have checked around on various other bdsm sites lately.  such as bdsmlibrary.. yikes.  There are just places where you know that the only activity people have experienced are mental games and muscled fingers.  I find more reality on CM than other places.  LOL it's one of the only places where you can check out what people are searching for and you don't go through page after page of people seeking for some online cyberdom/sub relationship only.

yep collarme is cool ! My girls are welcome to hit the boards here. A wide variety of opinions is great, and new ideas are constantly flowing. We are trying to emulate the style on our new site.

You have to learn to take the bad with the good in all things with life and certainly in the cyber world.

One of the biggest problems I have with this life and especially factoring in the Internet’s role in it is the preaching of the my way is the right way or my preference and opinion is better, right or more valuable then others and I think because of the amount of people on this site and that it is free makes it really the only place I choose to visit.

We can all complain about topics, people, manners and everything else that happens on this message board or any message board but I am glad that a person can come to this site and see different views and opinions even if there are times to filter out tones and attacks it at least gives people a decent shot in learning a very important thing that is there are no can only be this or only be that, you need to be yourself.

kc692 -> RE: The Superiority of Collarme.com (8/28/2007 2:49:52 PM)

I have always espoused this site's virtues, lol, I am a collarme groupie!!

Seriously though, I am always in awe of the owners' dedication to keeping this an educational NEIGHBORHOOD for the lifestyle...the personals are secondary to them.
