The first play party I went to..very small group of people, in a town about 45 minutes from mine. So I'm sitting there talking with a girlfriend and in walks a guy I went to high school with. He was a year behind me, and I swear if someone had ever asked me now to look back and guess who was Dom..his name would have NEVER entered my mind, lol. I'm not sure whose face got redder, his or mine..probably mine considering how I was dressed. Wasn't on the net, but definitely one of those "jaw drops open as I try my best to melt into the wallpaper" moments.

Too funny Joseff.....years and years ago, when my Sir and I first started dating, we had never even mentioned any "non-vanilla" hobbies. Three months into a compleatly vanilla relationship, I got an invite to a local play party. I fretted for a while over wether or not I should go, and take him...Id never mentioned D/s or BDSM or whatever acronym you'd like to use. I didnt know how he's respond..but I decided what the hell, there's no time like the present to be honest so, without mentioning to him the type of party, or giving him any warning at all, I drove him out to the play party. We get there, and knock on the door.....

Damn it if he hasnt known a good two thirds of the people there for the last 20 years in the SCA!!  Better part of it was it turning out he'd been into D/s longet than Id been alive and things always have a way of working themselves out for the best.......

It's bound to happen but I don't think blabbing about your secret knowledge to the outed person (in an email or in public) shows much social sensitivity. "I know your CO" apparently sounded pretty threatening, like career ending. If that's the kind of loudmouth impression you want to create for yourself, go ahead but in a community based on trust and respect it might not serve you well.

I never admitted to being known for much sensitivity....

Although I guess just to make everyone happy I should clarify that the bady of the email was in no way threatning, and I only did this because I had known the person in question for quite a while and felt comfortable craking insensitive jokes with him....hell, its the military...everyone's jokes are insensitive....we are rather crude when in a large group, and have often made many waitresses blush....

Heh.  The one thing I miss about such a lifestyle- the crude jokes to tease people with.

Ah wells.  They post plenty of crude things on YouTube these days.  Some overly crude things, too.
