If the reunion group had a website to themselves, that would be a bit more understandable. It's purpose is for a limited, targeted audience. Unless I'm misunderstanding the security features of Facebook, publishing photos there means that any and all Facebook members can view them. This is not a limited, targeted audience. There's a difference as to the scope of the problem here. Now, if the group has a "members only" partition on Facebook, accessible only by those with sufficient credentials to gain access to that space, then it's back to being created for a limited and targeted audience. I can understand how I would feel having my childhood pictures published on a wide-open Facebook, and it wouldn't matter to me who did the publishing. Their ass(es) would be kicked... legally, of course. {edited for slight error in grammar}
