Its ok to be a pro domme... and beat someone and charge them for it... but its illegal to sell sex... either way, its how the buyer gets their kicks... why is one wrong and the other ok...

So, you're equating beating someone for money and selling sex? I know a lot of proBoxers and cage fighters would dispute that. The bottom line is that money for delivering a beating to someone isn't illegal if the other person is consenting. Otherwise, pay per view would be out a lot of money!

Its ok to have a stable of people who you enslave financially... but its illegal for someone to take charge over a group of women who are having sex for money, and asking for a cut of their pay...

One is illegal and immoral... the other is... simply ok within the community that it exists in... truth be told... i don't understand the difference...

As for the illegality, once again it comes down to paying for sex and paying someone just because. It isn't illegal to just give people money or college students would almost all starve.

Now as for morality, each person has their own take on ProDomme and FinancialDommes. They are fulfilling a need for someone or they wouldn't exist. While I would not engage in either of them, I respect the rights of others to do so. I don't understand many of the fetishes out there, but I respect their right to exist.

Prostitution is legal in Belgium to. Pimping is not. In Antwerp the city developped a building block (they planned it with an architect and looked for an investor) where hookers have rooms with a quality standard about the beds, bathroom, social control (other girls able to help a hopoker if needed). There is control on th ehealth of the ladys and around the block other prostitution is allowed. In other parts of the city (certainly around shools f.i.) hookers are taken of the streets and locked up in the cell. So, politics allow prostitution but try to make it a legal, unforced and healty profession. It's a start. Downside for the ladys: they have to pay taxes.

I can see a difference between the two. A lot of women are drawn into the world of prostitution, as a mean of sole support. For various reasons they can be uneducated and unable to find a job to support their needs, drug addicts who need to pay for their fix, run aways that have no means of survival. Very few prostitutes enjoy their jobs. Pimps are usually not chosen. Many times they just run the underground and their neiborhood and enforce charges on women selling their bodies. While in BDSM all parties are adults and consenting, Subs enjoy their role and hopefully choose to live that way because it brings them joy and fulfillment. Mind you I do not mean all prostitutes are as descried above but I do believe the majority are like that. I have no problem with a woman chocing to sell sex if that choice is not driven by addiction or proverty.

People will twist anything arond to suit their own morality or profit base.

Re sex for sale - Religious zealots have always decried it, and the law is against spread of disease and not being able to tax  sex as a business, thanks to the religious/moral outcry. Except in Nevada and other international districts who regulate and tax sex as a business.

It just gets harder to get into the private business of people who subscribe to ideas (financial slavery and whatever else you want to put in this category) and do inadvisable things. The long arm of the law, and that of the religious zealot, would completely exhaust their resources trying to launch an attack against ALL OF IT. So they pick their targets and go to it.

My personal pet peeve is the idea that if alcohol is served in an establishment, you can't show live pussy. BUT, you can view live pussy if you bring your own alcohol. Where is the rationale in that???

Greetings satyrsnymph28,

Actually, it is not legal to enslave someone financially. The Thirteenth Amendment to the US Constitution not only abolishes physical slavery, it also abolishes other types of slavery.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Involuntary_servitude

Just a few months ago, a guy was taken to court by his "slave" and prosecuted under these terms. She claimed that she was made to work on his web site for him without compensation.

We pay for all types of feelings. We pay for the thrill of a roller coaster ride. We pay to feel cool drinking coffee in the right place. Many join investment groups and foolishly waste tens of thousands just to fit in with the group. It goes on and on. So who are we to judge?

Now for me, personally, the craziest things I've seen are pro-submissives. If I whip someone, I am doing it for her benefit as much as mine and I'm certainly not going to pay her to whip her. That would defeat the dynamic in my Dom mind and I don't want a submissive's money either. I separate my domination from others' finances. I still buy dinner.

i agree with that.. entirely... but i was curious as to why there is the descrepency and why some find one ok and the other not

It's illegal to beat people.

Do you think it's ok for a couple who happens to be a sadist and a masochist?

Some people don't.

It's all personal preference, upbringing and opinion, and in most cases, has to do with personal morals.  This is something that can be applied to pretty much everything.

Lets start with saying that I'm not writing this with the intention of offending anyone... Its just a question in my head... and something I've been thinking about... and talking about... for a while now.

I have this belief in my head that BDSM is a justification for some things that would otherwise be illegal...

Its mostly the financial stuff...

Its ok to be a pro domme... and beat someone and charge them for it... but its illegal to sell sex... either way, its how the buyer gets their kicks... why is one wrong and the other ok...

Its ok to have a stable of people who you enslave financially... but its illegal for someone to take charge over a group of women who are having sex for money, and asking for a cut of their pay...

One is illegal and immoral... the other is... simply ok within the community that it exists in... truth be told... i don't understand the difference...

I'm prepared for LOTS of angry "you don't know what you're talking about" responses... and truth is... I don't... thats why I'm asking...

The negative responses are unavoidable, but I would like to thank those of you in advance who find themselves capable of responding to the question at hand and not getting defensive.

I actually agree with you,I dont get why as a Pro its okay for Me to "beat people"(though its more than just beating them). But I cant charge for sex,not that I want to but thats not the point.

Why is one wrong and the other not...I have no clue how the world works I just try to follow along best I can.

And play according to the rules.
