Hi

Ok i do not know how often a Dominant or Master have called me littleone, ok i can understand such nicknames on a slave, almost like on an animal yes? but sometimes it seam to me to be rather ridiculus, i am sorry but i do. i am 170 cm tall that is about 5.6 feet i think and i wight 130 kg witch is about 285 pounds. i have to fight not to luagh when some Dom call me littleone.

So my question is, why on earth do so many Dominants call every submissive, bottom and slave littleone, why not find another nickame when that word simply do not fit very well?

lilone for me is a term of endearment for me. tis something special between my one and myself... outside of that .. it is not meant as an insult or anything... but something to mean an honor.. something honorable... if that makes sense

well how about whore, slut, cunt, etc.....

i kind of understand what your saying but dont take the words little one as a tactfull humiliation attempt.  Take it like the Dominant cares and is expressing care.

It took me a long time to figure out that the "names" my Owner calls me is His way of saying i love you and i care about you.

I love you and I care about you is never said by Him, it's expressed in other ways and when He chooses to express it, it does make me feel "special" in a way. 

Just remember it's not the choice of words or phrases, but the thought that counts.

They say it relating to the sub/slaves "station" rather then their actual physical size. i can relate to what you are saying though because i too am not "little" but when i hear it being said it just makes me smile.  i hear it more in a - you are under my protection kind of way.

I'm 5'9" about the only guy who could get away with calling me "little one" would have to be at least 6'4".  It's not a term of endearment that would do much for me.

When I was young there was a good friend of My dad's that called Me that, but his was more "little'un"  It was just a fondness word and he's the only one that calls Me that today, as big and old as I am and he's in his late 80's.

I have never been called "little one" by either my current Sir, or any one previously either. I have though, been called it numerous times by people who really dont know me, even by compleate strangers....Im barely 5' tall, and I always hated it when I was called that. Its so..I dont know, condesending? My former used to call me princess...now that I liked...never have liked little one though...

I also don't care for the little one pet name, even though I am under 5'2".  It just doesn't strike my mental cues to do anything for me.  I would rather hear my name or some pet name a special man decides is me. 
Online though.. it just pisses me off!  When someone who does not know me for beans, messages me with at "hello little one." I know he just wants me to get into that "little girl cherished one" headspace.  LOL and that is not going to happen when a stranger types it out. 
I feel like it is a predictable manipulation to put me in a lessor status at first conversation.  Generally, I close out the message box, or don't answer the email.  I prefer men who know that attaching a label to something or someone, does not make it so.

I think I have always used it because I consider it a term of endearment.  It has nothing at all to do with size.  I agree with what was said about it relating to a submissive's role in the dynamic, but for Me it is also about the sense of nurturing I have in the style with which I dominate.  In addition, there is something about the look in the eyes of a submissive kneeling when they look up at Me with devotion.  The term lil one just seems to embody all of these things and helps Me to express how special it is.

For me, it depends on who is doing the calling.  I have a dom friend that calls me that, it doesn't bother me, I know it is a term of endearment, not a way to put me down.  It is when total strangers call me that as a way to put me down, or calm down the way I feel that it gets to me.
 
I also wonder if it's because someone new can't remember your name compared to all of the other subs they talk to..so using the term "little one" keeps them safe.

i am not insulted by the term, but sometimes i find it hard not to inult by luaging, i can not help it, as the name seam so out of place. i was just wondering why that word is so popular even on subs where it do not fit at all. i do not mind being called little one, it just seam so out of place as if there is one thing one can not describe me as it is little.

Good post, but I would add that I see some submissives giving themselves a nickname with "lil" or "littleone" in it, and it perhaps....... not fitting.

My ex used to call all women he dated "Babe".  He said it was easier to call them all the same thing so no mistakes were ever made.

It means something special by my Dom and myself. i will also be called his "good girl", and some people use that term as well.

i also think it is a term of endearment and it must speak for something within them or it is a catch all like Honey or Baby.

It is also no different than calling one babygirl (when she is a grown woman) or little girl ...my Daddy uses both of those and at 37 i am hardly a baby but i loooove it when he calls me that.
