My diabetes numbers are friggin superb, if I do say so myself. For all intents and purposes, they are at non-diabetic levels.

Kinda hungry here, too......[:D]

I missed one lousy exit on the PA turnpike and had to drive 45 minutes out of my way.  Why doesn't the turnpike allow for mistakes?

Good morning, tricia.

The turnpike, evidently, is evil. [:D]. I feel for you, that would have made me nuts.

Good morning, Level.

Yes, it made me crazy but, unlike myself, it didn't have far to travel :) as i was halfway there already.

Have a great day.

G'morning, Level. =)

I have to finally climb out of my box and get a part time job. Meh. Feeling pretty whiny and downright spoiled right now. One gets used to having copious amounts of free time.

Oh, and I'm still obsessed with gardening, but that's nothing new.

James Hetfield of Metallica was detained in London due to his "taliban-like" beard a few days ago.

Although Metallica's travel and touring visas are solidified, unlike a few other grounded bands, James Hetfield and co. ran into a few roadblocks while traveling to the London installment of Live Earth last Saturday (June 7). According to U.K.'s The Times, Metallica's infamously dramatic frontman James Hetfield was detained in London's Luton Airport upon the band's arrival. The motivation for his questioning and detainment, although unexplained by airport officials or the police on hand, is speculated to have been motivated by Hetfield's "Taliban-like" beard. Following a brief questioning, which Hetfield was able to navigate by explaining he was a "rock star," bloggers have offered their opinions on the fracas, some finding it hilarious, while others cite despicable profiling, and some praising the officers' decision to detain the rocker in light of the U.K.'s recent terrorist attacks.

No. It was simply this.

A music fan realized who it was, and since Metallica Sucks, decided to treat them appropriately.

i wonder if i am nuts, because already i am coming out of my "no more pets cause it hurts too bad to lose them" mindframe and entering a crazy "razor gave me 14 years of unconditional love and i may get another dog, because the love is worth the pain" mindset......

my friends dogs have been loving all over me, as if they sense i need it......and while i know razor cant be replaced, and i will cry for him for a long time, i can give another dog a good life, and that may be the best tribute to razor i can ever give....

r.i.p. razor....and today i smiled remembering you instead of crying about losing you.....thanks for loving me.......

Level,
Congrats on the low numbers!  Wish I could say the same.  I try to be good but I love sweets and bread sooooo much[&o].  Hey, I use Splenda instead of sugar.  That's something, right?

Anyway, my miscellaneous info is just to recommend the new James Lee Burke book to you.  "The Tin Roof Blow Down" is the title - it's a Dave Robicheaux one - and I'm a few chapters in.  At the end of chapter one, I had goosebumps.  God, I love JLB.  I hope he lives another 100 years or so and writes a new Robicheaux addition every year.  I never get tired of them.  I can't say I was as impressed with his book of short stories that came out last month - "Jesus Out To Sea."  He's just not cut out to write short stories.  He needs the length that a novel provides in order to really shine.  Anyway, I figure you are probably already reading it but, if not, run right out and get a copy.  As always, JLB is superb[:)].  Stay healthy.............luci

Sinergy -> RE: Miscellaneous (7/14/2007 6:57:32 PM)

I work 5 days a week in the harbor, both to pay my bills and maintain my probationary status in the union.

I worked today.

Monday I am driving my kid back to college.  That is one day off.

Tuesday I will need to work.

Wednesday I am doing two self defense classes.  That is two days off.

Thursday I will need to work.

Friday I have to take the day off to go pee in a cup in order to get trained to drive what is called a "top handler," which picks up 40 foot containers and stacks them 5 high.  That is three days off for the week.

And I wanted to stay home and relax tomorrow.

Bastards.

Burke is the finest thriller writer today, period. The Neon Rain and In the Electric Mist with Confederate Dead are maybe my two favorites, but I enjoy anything he writes. I also love Robert B. Parker, and James Sandford, I snag anything they write.

Thanks for the encouragment, luci. My blood sugar has crept up the last couple of days, but I'm still keeping it under 100 with no meds. I think the coming week will tell the tale [8|].

SeeksOnlyOne -> RE: Miscellaneous (7/14/2007 8:02:28 PM)
