Good grief, not even the NY Times is buying this crap.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/12/us/politics/12giuliani.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

quote:

In a video that is by turns emotional, scathing and at times factually questionable, the nation’s largest union of firefighters is appealing to its members across the country not to support the Republican presidential candidacy of former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani

Though the video is addressed to firefighters, the union, a frequent supporter of national Democratic candidates, has posted it on Google and YouTube in efforts to reach a broader public as well. The video is largely an echo of blame that some New York firefighters have long placed on Mr. Giuliani for a number of circumstances on Sept. 11, afterward and even beforehand.
...

Some of the video’s assertions are at the very least subject to debate. There is no dispute, for instance, that there were communications failures on Sept. 11. But the video highlights the hand-held radios, whereas the central problem, most experts agree, was the failure of a device meant to boost the signal so that it could reach the high floors of the towers.

The video also implies that Mr. Giuliani was more concerned about securing some $200 million in gold stored in a basement vault at the World Trade Center than in recovering the remains of the dead, an accusation widely dismissed by people who closely monitored the cleanup.

Rudy and the FF union had been at each other's throats long before 9/11.

I dislike Rudy, in every regard, he will never win. He is a one trick pony and the trick wasn't even well done.  The Republicans are being very foolish to support him. He is the worst. And I identify as a "conservative" in many regards, (not a neo-con, or bush cronie).  I think all the Rudy support is media spin, I've not seen one Rudy sign in anyones yard, I've not seen much support at all on the internet, the only support I've seen has been via the media saying he is supported. Who are these closet supports, that don't speak, don't put signs in there yards.
I really do believe this is a case of the media trying to "Create the Candidate" (Good idea for a TV show, if it's not been done yet).

You overlook the obvious Gore/Clinton ticket.

Al pushes for "Awareness" of his pet issue from now until it's time to announce, and then BAM! Everyone else get out of the pool.

It wont be Clinton/Gore. Gore has already played second fiddle to a Clinton, and the nomination is his for the taking if he throws his hat in the ring.

The question becomes would Hillary be willing to play second fiddle to Gore? I personally think she is too power hungry to agree to be his running mate.

Dude, don't you think them eating each other's asses during the orgies sorta breaks down those barriers? Gore/Clinton. The use of Global Warming for him to get in front of the camera and STAY THERE, I think, is a great strategy, myself.

Remember, elections aren't about reality, they're about making official the pre-arranged result, and that result needs to be merely plausable *enough* to forestall a revolution. ( Bush v. Gore being decided by the Supreme freaking Court? O-kay, I guess, and/or Nixon's 72 "landslide"... )

Need, I think you nailed it there.

What do they call it, a "Media Darling?"
It won't be the Media deciding who gets elected.

The media got Bush elected in 2000, & Clinton in 84. Both were unknowns during the first primary until the spin doctors & puppet masters started pulling strings for Clinton & Bush.

Personally I see this as another swift boat type negative ad, done by people who have a beef with Rudy, & sponsored by yet another democrap lovin union.

Big difference here. The swiftboaters were liers, who`s bull pucky was debunked right off.Google it yourself(I mean the good people of CM,this guy hasn`t,and won`t).They were lying about something that happened decades before. And even then, they got caught.John Kerry was a hero in Vietnam. It was his political enemies, who showed cowardice. The only people who believe that BS story now, are the lunitic fring.

This piece, is provable and verifiable.Sorry,lol.It must be tough,to have to deal with people who have computers and the instant ability to check or research  something. So much harder to BS the public.ha-ha.This isn`t dismissible,...but please try.lol

By the way,the media did not elect bush in 2000,the supreme court
"picked him".

As well, the FF`s union you besmirched, endorsed george bush jr,..........twice!So much for your dig against the FF`s union.

Ever consider that all this is true?

I ask that y`all be open minded and don`t let those images of rudy walking about on  911 fool you.It was one of his failures, that put him on the street in the 1st place. The dope put his command center in the WTC(against all advice, btw),and it got destroyed!! He should have been at the helm, steering and leading the operation, from an un-disclosed bunker in Brooklyn. His decision the place the command center in the WTC, of all places, was a disaster.BTW,the bunker(FF/police command center) is now in an undisclosed location,in Brooklyn.rudy is like george bush jr,only with out the charm.

As to the FF`s beef,it`s completely legitimate. All the charges are easily provable.

But again, can`t we stop talking about this and help him win the republican nomination? Please ,please. We can get into all this later. In fact,I`ll promise that we`ll get into this later. But for now, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.ok?

YEAH rudy 2008!!!  YEAH rudy 2008!!!  YEAH rudy 2008!!!YEAH rudy 2008!!!  YEAH rudy 2008!!!

Walk into any FDNY station, and ask the rank-and-file what they think.

You can tell a person's worth, by their WORKS. All Rudy is *really* competent to do is take the money he gets for speaker's fees, and hire PR firms. ( Which, I guess, gets him more speaking gigs, free limos, free private jets, etc.... )

What do they say is the sign of the end? When you start believing your own PR?

firefighters, the union, a frequent supporter of national Democratic candidates

Ya know, unions tend to be frequent supporters of Democratic candidates because almost every Republican administration for the past dozens of years have tried to pass anti-union, pro big business legislation.  On the other hand, Democratic politicians tend to (at least) try to promote and pass laws which do not try to get rid of unions.

The Republican's seem to have difficulty with the concept that "the toes you step on today may be connected to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow."

United we bargain, divided we beg.

Me for one, and not only will there be a sign in my yard as we approach the primary, I'll be out knocking on doors for him

I can understand the attacks on Rudy.  I expect them to escalate, and probably grow more frantic and shrill.  The Democrats, have good reason to be terrified.  I think he has exactly the position to win the General and maybe do it with a mandate to tell the hard Left and anti-war bundle to STFU.  He's socially liberal enough to not alienate the pro-choice moderates, a tax-cutting fiscal conservative (no wonder the gov't unions hate his ass) AND he's strong on national security.

My concern is whether he can win the Repub. primary where the religious right still can demand a little tongue action.
