hello!

i'm new to this site and just starting to check out all of the cool features it has to offer.
a little bit of background on myself - i'm a sub and at this point a free agent; one could say i've been a sub/slave for pretty much my whole life because my parents trained both my sister and i to be the ultimate servants from birth - not a great thing as a kid but long term blessings are oft disguised in the short run.

as far as being a *proper* sub, whatever that may be, i could easily be considered a newbie - mainly because i have never had a proper Master - i have spent too much time in "relationships" where the word "Master" was misconstrued and ultimately deteriorated into abuse, neglect, and an utter lack of responsiblity.  to the point where i had to take the bull by the horns.  and i *hate* taking the bull by the horns.  the last big mistake was my big 'n' dumb and not-so-really-full-of-cum ex-husband who i finally sloughed off a year ago.  so i have trust issues. but the skinny of it is that i *really* like the standard-issue getting tied down, taped down, flogged, whipped, (lightly) cut, slapped, etc., and without a decent network it seems like one almost has to lower herself a bit too low to get the stuff she needs. though a large drawback is that i am largely self-taught and find myself doing the training.  and i *hate* doing all the training and i don't feel properly schooled.  but i digress.

now i'm checking out that internet - i have been very mistrustful of that internet, but 'there's some cool stuff out there on that internet' (to quote Death from Family Guy).  it's nice to know there are likeminded folk out there and it's not all like alt.com.  horray!

so after a long-winded and verbose rambling - hi there all!

hi, starling7.  Yes the internet is great, one of my most favorite tools for research.  Though of course have to take what I find with a couple of grains of salt, (or truckloads even!)  If you havn't already, look into your local bdsm community, if you have access, munches and other lifestyle events are well worth going to.

**enjoy!**

see that's what totally sux - i'm in Aberdeen WA, and there's *nothing* in Aberdeen.  nothing at all.  nada. zip. mitaan. bupkes.  the only "local" munch i could find was in Olympia, the Pac NW listings had the most recent update as of 2003 - tried contacting the contact folks to see if it's still going on - i'd hate to drive 60 miles and have it not going on at all - and no reply - probably they don't even have the e-mail addresses anymore.
any events or munches, most likely i'd have to spend 3 hours on the road driving to Portland or to Seattle and that's a bit much for me.  but if the price of gas goes down (LOL) then who knows!

Hello starling,
Have you considered starting a yahoo group of your own? I don't think it's terribly difficult, but even if you only meet a few people for coffee, it might be better than nothing. You never know where you will find likeminded people these days.
Good luck in your search
