Sure thing. I agree. Just, when someone decides it's okay for them, but not for me, then they are fucking me over. Of course, I'm not from the US, but the general feel of vaseline and a baseball bat is a fairly universal language, and the translation is "you're screwed". We get that as much as you do, obviously. Anyway. It has been my observation that when people have double standards in one area, they have them in others, and the more glaring double standards they have in one area, the more other areas are affected, and the more severely. I couldn't care less if a regular Joe or Jane has a double standard, most of the time. But I do care when the people who make policy do, because that makes the gov't itself employ a double standard, which is incompatible with anything these countries' citizens want their countries to stand for. Gov't needs to hold itself to a higher standard, or it is useless. And gov't cannot function well with a dyadic worldview.
