Most of the topics on here I find depressing.
Happy 4th of July everyone.
Anyone have any good news to share?

Nine months till my wedding reception, no groom invited, I gained not one lb over the holiday.  And the best news my daughter got engaged and I'm having so much fun planning from a distance.

Sure..... Bonds hit another dong the other day, and is just that much closer to blowing past Aaron. He also got some serious help at the last minute and took a starting position on the NL All-Star roster.

That's good news if you're a life-long Giants fan

Did that "serious help" come in a syringe?

Yawn.........

I don't give a fuck if he got into his space ship, went to the moon, and loaded-up a syringe full of liquid kryptonite..... He’s still gonna bust Aaron's record. We like Barry in San Francisco no matter.

Yes, him and his doctor.

Bonds is a great player, he proved that in Pittsburgh, but he ain't no Henry Aaron.

That’s clearly your opinion……but lets face it, on a thread where a lady{the op} asks ''Anyone have any good news to share?’’  There was surely no need for you to try and demagogue the good news I had to share. And then you got stef all excited about ‘’coming out of the closet’’ --- That was just pure wrong, too.  Now she’s gonna be excited for weeks…..

Now…. As far as the steroids go :  What the fuck is the big deal? The poppy crops /opium production bannered under the neocons /phony war on terror is at all-time record highs…..but there’s artificial outrage being directed at a few athletes over steroids instead – What gives?

Anyways…… I’ve posted numerous times to say that I fully support the legality of all drugs{when used in a responsible manner} And I can tell you that I spend seven days a week at a gym with a handful of guys that use steroids……and they’re truly remarkable.

And I’ll be honest here….while I’m not jealous that a brother /lifting-partner—who uses them--- can put four forty-five pound plates on each side of the Olympic bar and bust out sets of four and five like they we’re nothen’, I’d use them too--legally or illegally-- if they wouldn’t make me bald, didn’t put hairs on my back like a gorilla and didn’t weaken my immune system.

The false outrage about steriods is just that  - False.

I'll grant that the OP's intent was a good one, and to her, I apologize for any derailment of her thread I may have caused. Leaving aside the fact that trying to find a thread at CM that DOESN'T go off-course is an exercise of pissing in the wind. And R, you do have the right to be a Bonds' fan, and to be happy with him.

Now, speaking for me.... my outrage is not false. My admiration is primarily reserved for those who achieve without the benefit of steroids, in the world of sports, which can be tough, considering how widespread their usage is. I am also disgusted at the permitting of the opium crops, but being a sports nut, you won't see me post much on that, unless Bonds, or Terrell Owens, or someone gets busted transporting heroin.
