Good Morning VP and Christine.

VP, i already ate, so you don't have to fix anything this morning.  Congrats on passing the entrance exam.  i'm proud of you!

Christine, i hope the job search goes well today.  You deserve good things!

VirginPotty -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 6:52:22 AM)

Thanks, Fluffy!
No eats, eh?  How about something to drink then?

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 7:03:39 AM)

VP, i'm ok on drinks, too.  Iced tea 3/4 decaf and 1/4 caf.  Lots of ice.  And a glass of water in between glasses of iced tea.  There's also Splenda sweetened lemonade, too.

You have yourself a good day.  Have fun in WY with your Grand.

VirginPotty -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 8:05:03 AM)

Will do, Fluffy! We don't leave until NEXT Fri. but I can take a hint...................[&o]

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 8:11:15 AM)

i leave Tuesday night for Georgia (Grandma Duty). That's Greyhound for 20 hours.  How are you getting to WY - not bus, i hope.

VirginPotty -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 8:58:50 AM)

No, we're flying via Delta.
Have you ever used them before?  Personally I like Jet Blue. You have tv's on the back of each chair, lots of leg room & you get to reserve your own seats!

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 9:16:23 AM)

i flew Delta a number of years ago and it was ok.  Mostly i flew another airline because i was an employee.  i've never flown Jet Blue.  i don't like South West - it's too wierd. (i think i am too old for their games.)

Several airlines let you choose your own seat on-line.  They also let you check in and print your boarding passes at home the night before.  Delta may be one of those.

VirginPotty -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 9:20:16 AM)

Yes to checking on in online. I believe all airlines allow that.
I'll let you know about reserving my own seat.  I agree w/you about SW. I took that to Greedy's wedding in Feb. & was NOT impressed w/the cattle call mentality.

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 11:04:37 AM)

Does anybody know....

How much water/liquid i should drink each day?

i had been going by the guideline of 8 - 8oz glasses per day. But now i take a "water pill" to help my blood pressure and the doc said, "Be sure to drink plenty of water."

So do i add more (1 glass? 2 glasses?) each day or just drink the same amount?

i'm not getting thirsty with the 8 glasses.  (i've never had blood sugar problems.)

VirginPotty -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 11:45:08 AM)

1 gallon of water a day. (Not all at once of course)

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 12:15:05 PM)

So the 8-8oz thing is only half, right?

i've been drinking more but not quite a gallon.  It's not really hard to do - i just have a 20 oz thermal drinking bottle with a pop top nearby and drink from it when i think of it...especially when i think i might reach for a snack.

Thanks for the reference, VP.

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 12:23:45 PM)

That's right Fluffy, time to double up!
Good luck & I admire you for taking this on. Too many folks, myself included, hear "1 gallon a day" & think OMG!!!  But it's really quite doable.

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 1:10:28 PM)

i am using drinking water, decaf (3:1) iced tea and diet lemonade as a way to quit eating some of the stuff that i nibble between meals - even though the nibbles were somewhat healthy.
i am restricting myself to 2 fruits a day - one banana and one something else.
i am getting about 6 servings of veggies a day.
i think i am ok on that - still working on reducing fats, sodium and carbs.

VirginPotty -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 1:19:36 PM)

Don't reduce the carbs too much....you need to keep that wonderful energy you have!
Ok, I'm outta here. Have a great weekend & I'll "see" you on Monday![sm=cute.gif]

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 2:34:10 PM)

Not a chance of reducing the carbs too much.

i am waaaay over what i should be doing on WW.

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (7/10/2009 5:38:40 PM)

this girl made tortillas from scratch tonight -

putting Mrs. Dash South West seasoning in the dough.

cooking them on a hot pan first and then cutting them into wedge shapes.

transferring them to a cookie sheet and baking them in the oven with a spritz of baking spray.

They don't seem to be getting very crunchy yet - i don't want to burn them, but i'm looking for crunch.

Any ideas anyone?  longer oven time at lower heat?  Higher heat?
