ORIGINAL: PommeDeMonSang Im in KS and well body immedately said hey lets get acclimated :D so yea but still loving being away from family finally :D Some things that I found helpful in getting used to Kansas: Do your walking in the morning ~ It is cooler and feels less humid If you wear make-up, buy the stuff with SPF in it. Otherwise, get some sunscreen and wear a thin layer. Feets need air, so spend some time barefoot, or wear some sandles. Wal-Mart has cavas sandles for about five dollars. Keep water in your fridge (I use a filter pitcher) so that you can drink lots of cold water. Showers will help with that sticky feeling that you get from the humidity. If you will be spending lots of time outside, buy bug-spray with DEET in it. Get some outside citronela candles so that you can sit outside in the evening without being a bug snack. Buy a clock alarm radio thing. In about August, the katy-dids (Cicadas) come out, and they are LOUD. Apparently people who grow with them around never notice them. Personally they drive me to drink. Becarful about wearing clothing that is to restrictive in the middle of the day. Sure, it looks nifty, but the heat and humidity can be deceptive. Wash your hair everyday. I have noticed that people who do not do this, their hair has a matted look to it. If you are staying inside to do house-stuff all day, no problem, but if you are going to go out, you should not go with that matted hair look. It is icky. Well. . . those are my suggestions.
