Stevia is a sweetener that is 250-300 times sweeter than sugar. It comes frm the leaf of a plant named Stevia. It's used a lot in Japan. It is heat stable but does not act like sugar in baking bread or cakes. this girl has not used Stevia - just Splenda or sugar.

stevia is a very consintrated sweetner, people used to using sugar aren't used to how little of this is needed. one drop will sweeten a glass of ice tea to a southern standard.

The pink packet for me! Unless I am making hot chocolate, and then I use whole milk AND sugar. Because that is the way it is yummiest!

In this day and time cooks and consumers like to have a sweetener that measures the same as sugar. Splenda does that by adding maltodextrin to "bulk up" the sucralose. (read the label) Stevia has been identified as being safe by the FDA. As the kitty says you have to be careful not to use too much.

my da uses splenda, he's diabetic and i think it's better for that than sugar?
