A parrot with taste, but no street cred!

I lost any remaining street cred I had the other week, when out with friends in my car, the Blink 182 CD finished and the next one came up - Abba's greatest hits.

But at nearly 40, I dont care.

ABBA???

I like pain but that would be more torture than I could bear.

seeksfemslave -> RE: Parrot likes ABBA (6/15/2007 7:19:14 AM)

Everybody likes ABBA. Very original melodies.
I suppose that what puts people off today.

In my car I listen to Schumann and Brahms...so I'm really bad !

Jolielaide -> RE: Parrot likes ABBA (6/15/2007 7:23:37 AM)

I had a yellow naped Amazon that would pin his eyes and start bobbing and shifting from foot to foot whenever ZZ Top was on.  If I could have gotten him to wear a tiny beard and a cowboy hat, the band would have had a fourth member, I'm sure.

If the parrot is not masturbating while crooning can you be sure he really likes it or is he just into pantomime? (You hearin' my guns, Fernando?)

pahunkboy -> RE: Parrot likes ABBA (6/15/2007 7:30:04 AM)

bird owning is so diff then any other pet. ABBA is one of the groups that is refreshingly non shock- non vulgar. wholesome.  if im square so be it.   they have a lovely singing voice. you can hear the words. they dont overrely on special effects.

anyhow- the parrot owns me- i can get him to say hello on a nice day.

for a breath of fresh air- i broke out the abba tape.

does anyone have that one good song the partrrich family did???

ii still never figured out if he masterbates. ??

he wont let me cover him at night. he rattles the cage till the cover drops off. i figure ok- thats how u want it. if i were a bird i would do the same. he cant help it.

he can scream at a decibal that im sure can be heard from afar.

birds have unique personalities. hard care bird owners are whacked in the head too.

he loves and hates me. he will outlive me. they can live 75 years.

i wonder what paroot cum looks like....

pahunkboy -> RE: Parrot likes ABBA (6/15/2007 7:38:12 AM)

you don't know if he masturbates?  I thought you had a whole thread on his rod shining antics.

i am teh 2nd owner of him. he screams like - i swear it sounds like a female orgaasm. [try and explain that to nieghbors!!!!]
so it occurred to me- maybe he wasnt imitating the orgaasm he heard- but in fact he might be HAVING orgasms.

jim says i should carry him around on my shoulder- a good way to sever my ear off!  this bird wont let me pet him or get to close- in a way maybe he does take on my personality. while im friendly and outspoekn, very few get into my private space.  subconsciensly i wont let it happen- i steal the covers and push the person out of bed during sleep.

when i first got him i was very concerned about doing everything right. well one day he bit me while i was feeding him. broke skin on my f-iong computer finger. i though ok u azzhole!  u get what i give u.  im not going to break my neck to get special toys treats ect.

for a while i had him up for sale- then i got over the bite- but he drawed the line. no touching. [a fun date huh??]  no flowers and candy if i dont even get to pet it.

Could be worse - Brahms and Liszt in the car isnt a good idea.

friends of mine in chicagio had a grey. it imitated teh phone ringing sound and the hello part. it was sharp. from the other room it did sound like a phone. he even picked up my laughter!!

i was sad when i learned he passsed. his name was Ceaser. damn i have to get my azz to chicago b4 my friends start dieing off. see- a few are 70-80ish- role models. they know my life story. then there is my family.

my style is to work 1st- then play. i have to get my new place in order- so as to have teh dog sitter here. i doubt she [age 73, babtist] wants to see gay porn pics and odd books and papers. so i prefer to secure all that stuff.

life is fragile. Jeanne in Chicago helped me during my darkest days on earth. I must see her. Marge also- was a true inspiration. Even my ex- is a walking encyclopedia of the latest knowledge.

Then there is mom. No one can love another human more then a mom loves her child!! no one.  I must see her and her home to know she is actually doing ok.  She sent me $25 the otehr day. i said mom, please dont send money. i am a grown man, and can pay my bills.

it may cost $1000.00 to just grab a plane a room, and car for a weekend. im heavily debating this..

meanwhile rude jim said my trees look llike hell. i have 42 of them here. excuse me- but i [and bank] OWN this property!! i pay the mortgage. not him.

the way they are destroying the rain forest- he should be glad for a few more treees!  i mean they are desacrating the rain forest- the lungs of teh planet.

aside from that- my 1st choice was acreage in the country. but i settled to live in town as that is where the home a forelcosure was possible. at full price i cant afford to live in this valley. i have a nice sized corner lot with a southern expiosure- and from 2nd floor nice river views.  blue spruuce, douglass firs, norway pine, roses- some i will trim others will be allowed to grow full hiiight. when i was a kid in the 70s i took a regular evergreen and groomed it with the pom pom efffect. im sure i can do that again- and maybe more impressive patterns.
the place is mine. im stunned he would be so rude over MY HOME. he doesn pay the bills here- i do!

If you can't touch him, how do you care for him? Clip his wings, trim his nails, file his beak, bathe him?

All birds will bite. If your bird is very aggressive it is because the people in his life have not taken the time to teach him not to be. It can still be done but requires patience and consistency. The rest of your life is a long time to live with an animal that you can't touch. If you have gotten to the point that you have given up and don't wish to put in the effort, then I would have to say that selling him or giving him to someone who will is not a bad idea....certainly one that would be in the best interest of the bird.

Yes - interesting the way it was put actually. But then looking from this end, Elvis was from the US, not whichever state he came from.
