I wanted to join the forces. I could have gone straight in as an officer because of my education. I didn't because I didn't think that I could cope with the attitude of the rest of the officers towards the enlisted personnel. I trained as a teacher because it would fit in with having kids. The system was not good enough. I became a foster mother because I didn't have my own kids the back-up was abysmal. So I became a social worker thinking I could change things from the inside all I did was work myself into the ground until they sacked me for my profile on this site. You can't beat the system. And you can't change it. I'm now starting my own business. That way I may be poor but at least I'm in control. At some point I might try and go into local politics. Lets just see what happens bacause the people who will have to vote me in will know I'm a Domme. Will I be shunned, despised, or will the mainly working class people in the area not care what I do in my private life as long as I stand up for what they need in the way of services. Who knows. It might be fun finding out though. Am I strong enough that's the question. IfI did get in I would finally have some real power. Can I change the world? Not a chance but I might be able to change my little bit of it a little bit.

For the most part I set my own hours and decide what I want to do and how but I had better pay attention to feedback from others as well. I think that is very much like being a good top or a dominant both.

Faramir, LOL, what happened to "love the sinner"...or are you only new age and pleasant when it suits you? As hard as it is for me, I am quite modest. In fact, very few manage modesty as well as I do. Considering other posts of mine here I don't really have much issue thumping my chest when I feel it is warranted and I am quite comfortable with my statement.

I've worked as a scientist, an engineer, college instructor, and craftsman / artist. I've never been in the military. The military was just too structured for me. I've prefered work that allowed me to learn while giving me the flexibility to solve problems my way. I've never been able to conform, and that has nearly always been an asset even in the corporate world. People have always seemed to respect my work, and overlooked my quirks. My work has been a driven by my belief the in mastery of myself first. I've never been one to give orders, but I find it very easy to be in a leadership role. Tristan

Hmmm well, I was in ROTC for a while in school.. of course my goal was to distract all the "officers". Accomplished. [8D] Student, then student again. Going to be again in Sep t. studying psychology of course! Did take several law enforcment courses, leaned much more to the psycological bend on things. Not so black and white. I have been a stay at home mom for years, although my brain won't stop, so I did "lucy" projects. tie die business, day care, volunteer work... Currently a human resource director for a small company.

I wait tables as I'm working my way through school- congruent with my orientation. Studying to become a professional musician (french horn)- which really just makes me crazy... but I like it.

My background is the arts. I work in management. I have seen a lot of people in law enforcement/military and the legal fields on both sides of the spectrum. My own highly uneducated guess would be that it has something to do with protocol, and with physical benchmarks for success. But again, that's a guess.

Background...a vinalla family where god was respected and sex wasn't spoken too often. I'm Ex-military, and spent 20 yrs in the service repairing weapons. Now I work in physical security. I now own a business. I'm a switch, but much prefer the bottom.

I am a recovering catholic lol I have worked as: waitress (during high school), Secretary, Admin Assist for fed govt for past 20 yrs.. Presently on hiatus until end of summer. Going to university in Adult Ed. I am going back to work for feds in a learning and career environment. Not military, not military brat, but work on a military base [:D] I am more sub, but am learning to top Minette happily owned slave

I won't answer for M, though I will say he is ex-military. I feel it has a lot to do with his personality, and I do think he would agree with me in that. I have worked in customer service and HR for years now. I am currently going back into customer service again. I really do like to be in charge in most, if not all of the things in my life. I have chosen to let that part of myself go and give it over to M. I am not much of a follower and I don't really enjoy conforming to others ways of doing things. Along with that though, I do enjoy making others happy. I think that is one of the things I get from being his slave, seeing him pleased and content. I am not sure if that is a submissive trait, or it's just how I believe someone should make the person they are in a relationship feel. I am pretty old-fashioned in a lot of my views on the male/female relationship. When we have kids, I do plan on being at home...no place else on earth I would rather be.

I am a carpenter by job title. However, my job is a bit twisted. Im techinically self employed but i sub contract mainly from a friend. I am second in command on any job he is on and i run jobs he isnt on. Its not a postion i care for to be honest. I hate being second in command( or even first on someone elses job) I hate having to answer to anyone.I have a problem with authority. That problem being " you put your pants on the same way i do, one leg at a time, so quit giving me orders" Though the person i sub contract for knows how to approach me about task, i still dislike the fact i cant do whatever i want. I am often put in charge of other less experienced workers, which i see as a pain in the ass. I get pleasure out of domming a sub not out of domming a snot nose brat that thinks he is master carpenter has no interest to me. Im very independent, ive found ways to do just about everything to a house by myself and i hate leading at work. Mainly because those im leading dont live up to my expectations. They are there for beer money im there for a living. I aspire to get into building spec houses for myself as well as real estate investing. In which i would not have any authoritive figures. Ive never been in the military and never would go. If i somehow got stuck in the miltary i would probably get booted out or put in the brig as i have a problem with authority, regardless of if its carrying a gun or not. Surprisingly, ive never been in trouble in my life. :) My sub currently takes care of our daughter and does not work. Though she has typically be in admin/service jobs.

Im submissive but joined the Marines for other reasons just wanted to leave the nest and grow up. I've learned theres differnent types of leadership autoratarian and democratic, i can see my self leaning towards a more demorcratic approach, I dont think the job so much dictates your personality but how you do the job more so in my opinion. ooh rah to the other Marines out there. (sound motavated) 2D CEB, 2D Marine Div for the other guys in the service.

Went into retail management for many years, then hotel/motel management and tourism for many more years. Decided to go back to college and became a paralegal on my way to the bar exams but realized that I really disliked the actions of most attorneys. Became a florist just because I loved it. Presently, I am in management in the tourism field again and help a couple of local florists during the "flower holidays" and still do some freelance paralegal work on occasion. I like to utilize creativity with some authority in my "vanilla" life but it carries over into my BDSM activities as well.
