When women post their crap mail, I think it's revolting enough; but when MEN start posting their crap mail, it has "protesteth too much" written all over it.

Hey everyone, I was curious if anyone has ever used craig'slist.com to find or meet someone for BDSM? I was surfing around and found a lot of people looking for vanilla encounters and a few people looking for Dommes and subs.

Craigslist incompasses a very wide spectrum, consisting of those who post ads and those who reply to ads.  This applies to both the vanilla world and the BDSM world. I  cannot emphasize strongly-enough that one needs to exercise caution when posting and replying to ads on that Website.  There are those who post their ads on Craigslist who do not respect a submissive who replies with a polite, respectful and detailed letter of introduction, so beware.

Not many message boards or lists will exclude those advertisers who do not acknowledge a polite letter of introduction.  Acknowledgement of an inquiry is most certainly within the realm of the advertiser, and not within the realm of or reponsibility of the list owner.

It is probably true in most cases that a particular list owner views the posting of ads as a free speech issue; and many list owners site free speech as a First Amendment right, as outlined in the US Consitution and the Bill of Rights, as their excuse for not monitoring their list in a responsible manner.  However, it is my opinion that failure to prevent exploitation, or turning a blind eye to it, equates to a blatent disregard for those who can and are regularly victimized.
