He just hit his 20th in his 54th game, which makes for a pace of exactly 60 over the full season.  Only one person has ever hit more without steroids.

I was never a big A-Rod fan, but this year for the first time I find myself actually pulling for him.  (Though I doubt he really needs anyone's support...)

Gotta admit that his lil' hr tear a few weeks back brought Bonds' HR into question for second....but he's slacked way off and won't come close.

Update: After smoking the D-Backs yet again this afternoon, the Yankees are 12-2 since A-Rod deked that third-baseman in Toronto back on May 30.  Maybe that was the turning point in their season!

Update: The Yankees were 21-29 on May 29.  Tonight, they're 59-50.  That means they're 38-21 since A-Rod did his famous "I got it" stunt.  Not bad.

Yeah, but at this pace, A-Rod's never going to catch Eddie Murray, much less Bonds.

The Jays' manager called the play "bush-league," and the Jays team refused to come out and shake the Yankees' hands after the game. Excuse me? The only thing that was "bush-league" was dropping a routine inning-ending popup. These self-important and overpaid athletes seem to have forgotten that the game is played for the fans, and the fans want to see a guy do anything he can to help his team win. If some moron is stupid enough to let a ball drop just because the opposing player yells something as he runs past, it's his own fault.

two things:
one: (and most importantly) I thought  LROD was gonna make a comeback.
two: This is rather like the Republicans walking out of congress because they have been undone by simple ruse.

Look out Barry. A-Rod is on your tail. The youngest to reach 500 homeruns.

Supposedly.."He" is the next big name to be accused by Conseco as a steroid abuser when his next book is released.

At least A-Rod did not do a Tonya Harding and try to take the 3rd basemans knees out with a club. He was only about 1/10th as bad.

Conseco is a big hoooooor...... I don't know  how much truth he speaks. Just looking at A-Rod, he doesn't really look the part of steroid user, but I know that does not always apply. If he does turn out to juice, who do I have left to cheer for? Neifi Perez?........ no, wait......... hmm.

Not exactly.  Canseco said he had "stuff" on A-Rod, and that you'd have to read the second book to find out what it was.  Most people don't think the "stuff" is steroid-related...but we'll find out in due course.

You know Canseco has said a lot of things that were true, and a lot of things that were absolutely ridiculous.  Let's not forget that Canseco also said he ran a sub-4.0-second 40-yard dash in college.  OK, unless he's a Martian, that's absurd.

Just in case you Yankee-haters thought I wasn't paying attention to this anymore: after tonight's victory over those same Blue Jays, the Yanks' record is 83-62.  That means they're 62-33 since the "I got it" game.

That game turned their whole season around.  A-Rod for MVP!
