How you are forced to life is similar to those with a chronic illness that can be triggered for no particular reason.   For many in the world they do not understand the toll that can take on an individual.  You are very correct white lies are important for those who you do not feel like telling your entire life history to.

There are many people in the world who have been gifted with wonderfully perfect health and they do not truly appreciate what they have.  Some of those individuals are the most judgmental one would never want to meet.

You are fortunate you have a sign that alerts you to the pending situation.  My only advise is to listen to the sign and go with the flow for the required period of time.  Do not feel guilty this is not something you wanted, wished for or created.  It will only make you a better person IMHO.

Enjoy life on those days you are able, take the time to smell the roses, see the glass as half full and just be with yourself and the world.  I know its easy to say but try not to let these episodes get you down.

All the best

I am glad you have a routine down for protecting yourself, dog, bird
and home.  When the beginnings of a migraine headache are starting
I have about 20-30 minutes to prepare too.  Then it is lights out and
sleep with the over the counter medication until the pain goes away.
One doctor used to give me a particular prescription but it is highly
addictive and the OTC stuff works, just not as quickly.
