And screw the rest of us that can't afford to invest, right?  Usless people like teachers, social workers, nurses, and the like who are paying a full day's wages for a tank of gas.  There has to be a line drawn somewhere.

If you want to live in a world where economic equality is enforced, Hydro, there is no point even starting a conversation.  I work a lot harder than some, I expect to have a better quality of life and retirement.  Others work harder than I, and made better decisions than I might have, and they get to live a life nicer than mine.

Patience.  If you have a work ethic to go with that degree, you'll do well.

There's the flaw though.  Hard work doesn't mean shit.  You know what a BS in psych gets you without the masters to go with it? A social work job making $8.95/hr.  I work my ass off and barley scrape by and then end up pouring a whole days work into a single tank of gas.  Meanwhile my clients don't work at all and sit at home raking in welfare.  Yeah, if I get a masters I'll be doing fine...oh wait, I can't afford any more classes, oh well.  Forget it, it's just a rant.

And chances are, those student loan payments aren't helping either.  As for the clients you encounter, I feel your pain.

If you feel stuck, a Bachelors in ANY field will open a hell of a lot of entry level doors.

Did you think it was going to be easy?

No, but I didn't think people with high school educations would be doing better than me either.

And that at the same time I'm paying over $120 month for my insurance when I've never even had a speeding ticket let alone a wreck.

Now if you want to talk about an industry fucking us over....   Try boycotting the insurance companies and the cops will impound your car out here (unless you have a Matricula Consular card).

This is one place the industry makes no margin from me lol.  My Jeep was vandalized 3 times last year so they didn't make much off after having to replace the top 3 times and 2 windshields.  I imagine enraged clients...the mentally ill are somtimes unstable, imagine that.  Not all of them mind you, just enough to make the job a little more interesting.

Half my co-workers are high school grads.

There are other ways to open doors, college is merely one of them.

Determination to succeed is what makes it happen.

p.s. sometimes it doesnt happen, but if you are not determined to make it happen you are determined to make it not happen.

The Federal Trade Commision let Exxon and Mobil merge, so instead of having competing gas stations on each corner, they know own both. I guess it is not right for the government to tell companies what they can and can not do, so why even have the FTC in the first place then. In the 70s and 80s I had school teachers guit to work on for G.M and Chrysler,on the assembly line, and they said staright up they would make much more money.

The thing to keep in mind is that those HS grads are going to hit their peak earning potential a lot sooner and then level off and start to decline a lot sooner than somebody with a degree.  Manual trades also tend to offer more chances to work overtime.

I got lucky with my new job.  They were having trouble getting people to stay in the seat (the last one quit after one day) and they waived the degree requirement.  I'll be back in the night classes in the fall to be ready when something opens up at the next level.
