LadyPaige -> Question for On-Line Fantasy Game Players (5/22/2007 11:59:34 PM)

I really don't expect any of the on-line fantasy game players to have the courage to answer this since that would mean admitting that they are fake.  My question (just in case I'm wrong) is.... Why do you make dates to meet when you know you have no intention of following through?  It's really getting annoying that I waste my time e-mailing and chatting with someone who isn't real.  I haven't been on here that long this time, but I've already started telling people I don't want to do the on-line thing, lets just meet face-to-face and get to know each other the old fashioned way.  At least that way I weed them out faster.

Masque66 -> RE: Question for On-Line Fantasy Game Players (5/23/2007 12:19:36 AM)

huh...I never stopped to consider the reasons behind it.  My guess would be that they don't consider it a lifestyle, they just see it as a quick thrill.  They don't want anything more than to have something to jerk off to for a few minutes.

CuriousLord -> RE: Question for On-Line Fantasy Game Players (5/23/2007 12:37:48 AM)

Drats.. and I was hoping this thread was about MMORPGs!  ..no, I'm not addicted to them.. *shakes violently*.

Meh.  I do like a game called WarCraft III.  To play a game online, you chose a map (to serve as a battle field for the coming game), and people join up.  Once there's enough, the game starts.   A particular map I enjoy takes about ten minutes to find enough people for, then load, assuming average speeds.

At the release of the game, people would join games, then leave just as they started.  For no reason other than to annoy others with wasting their time.  The game's been out for more years than I can remember now.  Still, people continue to do so- constantly.  They waste ten minutes of their own time just to waste ten minutes of random stragers'.

I still don't get the motivation.  I just know some people are really wastes of human life.

Copulo -> RE: Question for On-Line Fantasy Game Players (5/23/2007 1:45:16 AM)

When I used to pro Mistress I used to get phone calls where the sub never talked but desperately just wanted to hear a Mistress pick up the phone and say hello. I would then get fantasists calling to ask ‘what will you do to me Mistress?’ and then I would get guys that would make appointments but have no intension of showing up.

It’s the same online.

Sure! Maybe um... That BDSMers make good hobbyists?

Right, time to sound off... Who likes SciFi, learning how to speak Klingon, going to RenFaire, engaging in debates about which StarTrek series was the best and/or playing D&D or other table-top gaming? Who has more than a passing interest in "interesting" sports (fencing, jousting) and also may enjoy going to conventions wherein leather isn't the primary focus?

mstrjx -> RE: Question for On-Line Fantasy Game Players (5/23/2007 4:33:21 AM)

For what it's worth (since you've stirred up a different sort of pot), most of my prior relationships were started with meetings within the first 24 hours of initial contact.

This one was the longest to come to fruition, clocking in at 11 days.  Of course, with roughly 700 miles difference, it took a while to walk all that way.  But it seems as if I started out the first day.

I would tell you not to get your hopes up until you can manage that first meeting, but sometimes I do the same thing.  I just make sure I get that meeting out of the way quickly.  But 'it takes two', and in this case neither I nor the people who I've met wanted to play silly Web games.  So it goes back to the choices you've made.

One of these days.  Don't give up.

Jeff

Original gamer here. The Realm Online member from day one when it was free. Got bored there. Diablo, Diablo2, Diablo2 expansion. Now on Conquer online. Funny, I thought CO game would have more errr conquering going on. *shrugs* Tried Guild wars, not impressed. I want WoW but can't quite afford it yet. I also played AD&D as the only female in an 8 person group. Now that was interesting! That's where this lil sub picked up a bit of a feisty side. *grins* After all I am only one lady! I love Star trek Next Gen but recently started watching Voyager. I know, all repeats but just getting the story line down now. Interesting plots! Also a Stargate fanatic! OMG!!
Oh and on the actual topic, I have a friend who met his now wife online more than 15 years ago and they are happily married. So it can indeed work with the right people. Keep looking and you'll eventually find what you were looking for.

no siggy, just simply, shy

domiguy -> RE: Question for On-Line Fantasy Game Players (5/23/2007 6:05:54 AM)

Because it is fun.....I once had a sub take the train from Missouri to Chicago to meet me....She called when she arrived at the station and asked why I wasn't there to pick her up?  I informed her that I had some shoes that needed polishing...and that I had run out of black shoe polish and that I was simply to distraught at this moment to deal with anything and that she should go back home...She called me a motherfucker!!!...Some people are so sensitive and rude.

Trampler -> RE: Question for On-Line Fantasy Game Players (5/23/2007 6:33:53 AM)

Well it sucks that so far you haven't had much luck.  by the way, just so you know, just because they don't show up, doesn't automatically mean that they are fake.  It could mean that they wimped out, and are not ready to take the step.  Or yes it could mean that they are messing with you.  Ethier way, just have to move on, there are submissive males out there who would love to be yours.

Celeste43 -> RE: Question for On-Line Fantasy Game Players (5/23/2007 6:35:41 AM)

Sometimes people just get too scared to actually meet. They chicken out because going from fantasy to reality is too much.

JeniferJuniper -> RE: Question for On-Line Fantasy Game Players (5/23/2007 6:48:18 AM)

Chances are that anyone who contacts you and wants to immediately chat on-line is probably only wanting to do that and nothing more.  Hoping to get into the cyber scene thing as quickly as possible – and will give you lots of time…. as long as the wife/husband isnt around.

Personally, I ignore one-line messages saying, “Do you want to chat?”  Or any other suggestions like going on MSN etc.  If a person cant write and exchange interesting and informative emails – then I am not interested.
And yes, sometimes people do just chicken out – and that’s probably because things have been rushed and not enough has been learnt about each other to feel any security.
