Kinda of ironic. I was in the clearance side of the military, Navy, and most of the people I worked with day to day knew I was into kinky stuff, although I never enlightened to how much I was. Other than the occasional jibe and comment, it was basically a non-issue. Then again, i was in the possibely the most, individualistic "Fuck you" rate you could be in. Far more quirky people than I.

I found far more sanctioned subservience in my paper chase after I left the military. If you want to see pedantic, finicky and doctrinaire folks, try dealing with pretentious, tenured professors in grad school. The tenet in both was if you don’t like it get out. In the military, I could say okay and move onto another career, but when I have invested lots of time, effort, money and dreams in grad school, it ain’t so easy.

I am active duty military. Most the most part, people at work don't know about this side of my life and that is just fine with me. I have been friends with several other people in the military that were into the lifestyle. So long as you don't go to a play party in uniform, or go to work with your collar on, I personally don't think its a big deal.
