Confused and curious about Dom/Dom couples

Status: offline 		i've been messaged by a few Dom/Dom couples (i'll just use the Dom/Dom even though there's also been Domme/Dom and Domme/Domme but it's too much to type them all every time :S lol)

So it got me thinking, how would two Doms be a couple?

The only way i can think of it working with what i know would be that they are Doms who have a romantic relationship and they bring in submissives, is that how it works? Or are Doms those together but more in a friendship way, not really a couple in the romantic/in love kinda sense?

i guess after i said i wasn't available to be owned, they didn't feel compelled to reply back to me and answer when i asked them about it

Status: offline 		It could be either actually, or one of them could be a switch..or....the possibilities are only as limited as your imagination, but as far as I understand it, Dom/Dom refers to a couple where both partners are dominants, regardless of the genders involved

Remember in a couple you have the D/s and the vanilla---so they have the vanilla of being a couple--but they seek either subs or bottoms for the D/s dynamic

If you ever start to say "Is it possible?" or "Does anyone?" the answer is ALWAYS yes.

Now, as stated, in this particular scenario, the dom/doms could be switches, or could bring someone else into the relationship in some capacity or another. Dom/Dom couples are not entirely uncommon.

Some people like the idea of having another Dom or Massochist as there partner. Someone to share there sadistic ideas with and act out as a team.

Another plausible reason is that some people just can't inflict pain on someone they love. However, they still want to be with a kinky person who understands there wants about BDSM. So they hook up with another Dom/Sadist for a mostly vanilla like relationship untill it comes to whiping and spanking others.

For whatever other reasons there may be, the two make it work.

And thanks to A/all who replied, i keep being told there are no absolutes, yet i keep getting stuck on trying to figure out the various puzzles of what works and exactly how...i'm a slow learner

i'll get used to the whole fact that nothing has concrete perameters very soon, i promise, but thanks A/all for indulging my curiosities even though they probably seem kind of dumb/ignorant to you with all your experience and knowlege behind you. i appreciate E/everyone trying to shed some light on my questions even though they're so basic, thanks

And what you're going through is very normal and I can only say that I am grateful that youa re at least recognizing that your mind keeps trying to make things get put into little boxes.

It amazes me to no end to see all the novices come into wiitwd with wide eyes and so happy that they get to be who they are and no longer have all the restrictions of their past lives!

And then immediately turn around and try and fit everything in wiitwd into neat little "yes" "no" "should" "shouldn't" "Not good" "good" boxes that they've lived with all their lives. It's a natural thing I suppose, but boggles me.

At least you are not doing what all too many folks do when they don't understand something - stamping their little feet and shouting "no, its WRONG".

You realised there was something you couldn't figure out and you asked for an explination. Nothing wrong with that IMO, how else are people going to learn?

I know. Ageplay isn't something I have much interest in though I have sparked a little of it in partners from time to time. Something about how some react to caring+authority+size I guess. Thankfully its usualy had more of a humourous result than any expectation of my taking it seriously.

Status: offline 		We weren't a couple, but I used to 'top' a domme friend of mine. We managed a scene with a sub/sub couple. Think of CEO and COO; I gave orders and she saw that they were carried out. It wasn't poly, but it was interesting.

Status: offline 		We are a dom/dom couple, so let us try to expalin it at least how it works for us anyway.

We are still taking applications for a slave and have been asked same from a few. In our situation When I am home I am the stronger dom of us and she submits to me but when I am not home she switches to domme and takes over. It works for us and just need to find one that can handle it.

I am the Master of our home and Lady Neets is, besides being my Free Companion, rules the home with me (with me having the final say which is quite normal in a Gorean Home). We also have a poly relationship, which leaves the opening for both male and female slaves to be collared by the home and later earn our personal collars if it pleases us.

I see no difficulty nor confusion in this set up.
