Ever had a day where you just did something so incredibly clutzy and idiotic that you are just so amazed.

I was talking to my daughter last night as I was walking out of a room; turned around and ran smack into the flippin door.

OWWWWW

If it was not for the burning pain in my cheek, and the massive bruise that covers once side of my face I could almost think it was nothing more than a nightmare.

Talk about an idiotic clutz

LOL I tried ice already; it just made the bruising worse. I just can't believe I did that; my mind is still boggled.

and my daughter the little wretch...sits there with her mouth hanging open, gets up and goes to the door, looks at it and the tells me 'whew, thats good, you did not bust it'

That's the kind of stuff that I do everyday!!!!! I am a hopeless klutz, but it's very entertaining to "spectators" who may be watching!

I've learned that Erin is worse than me, but yeah that's a daily occurrence for me.

Heh...I always joke that the reason for taking dance classes is to prevent myself
from falling face-down or ass-up on stage.

Aww IrishMist, I feel for you. Doors and I have sworn ourselves to be mortal enemies. The latest one being where I opened the outside door on a bit of a windy day, stopped and backtracked to counter for something I forgot and started rummaging for the keys only looking up in time to walk right into the edge of the door. I swear the whippet snickered behind me but it hurt too much to give her the evil eye.

This just a month after being smacked in the face with a door someone was opening for me to walk through. Sometimes chivalry is not a good thing.

Good news: My nose isn't broken. The shiners should be gone in another week or so.

LMAO OMG, I can just hear her if that happend. Her teacher called me today ( we are pretty good friends ); apparantly my wonderful offspring found my wanna be shiner and odd walking habits worthy enough to discuss with her whole math class.

Can we say a bit of ..well...not very offspringy pride lol

I grew up being called Grace by my mom....my name AIN'T Grace!

I hasn't gotten better with age.....while employed with a state police agency, I was required to go to training in another district...reather than pay mileage, they gave me an unmarked squad car....a Chevy Caprice.  For anyone who has ever driven them, the doors are very heavy.  Anyway, I was getting caffeine one am on a VERY windy day, and opened the door, put the stuff in the car, and while i was getting into it, the door slammed shut on my head.  Got a hell of a case of whiplash out of it, but the REAL
embarassment was having to report the injury on a field report the next day....the trooper who took the report was very polite about not laughing, i finally took pity on him and told him to laugh away, cuz it really was sort of funny!  My fellow dispatchers on the other hand, took great delight in it, but that was ok, because we are a sick bunch anway!

i never do anything half-assed...if i'm going to screw something up, there will ALWAYS be a crowd around!
