Oh yeah we are the champions!  It was great to hear that Glenn McGrath played so well in his last game for Australia.

Think Ill give any Walkabout a swerve for the next 5 years, you know what these Aussies are like for milking it ;-)

I prefer to remember Flintoff clattering Shane Warne all 'round the ground at Old Trafford, you have to take your victories when you can.

P.S. England were shocking as per usual.

I am shocked and in fact emotionally distraught at your belief that us Aussies would ever tease someone such as yourself simply because England showed the world yet again that cricket may not be their forte. Give it up guys, admit that we are the far superior players and you can then come for a walkabout here with no fear for your life or your pride, hell we may even stick a hat with corks on your head

It was pretty much a foregone conclusion, but credit where its due. The best players and team, and best looking players and team, coincidentally - though the Kiwis have a few too!

What wasnt expected was that I'd end up watching quite a lot of the championship and finding..... cricket..... interesting.....!  Even more unexpected, quite exciting at times....!

I shall be consulting my physician at the earliest opportunity, before I risk possibly watching golf.

LOL LadyEllen!
Two members of My family left on a chartered flight for Barbados two weeks ago, and they have said it's been the best time of their lives watching the final games and experiencing all the festivities plus the atmosphere of having so many international people come together to enjoy the games.  I've been watching as well, and even though I'm not a sports fan, I began to really enjoy it as well.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!  No golf-watching, now!!

Yes Wanders, you and I know both know that the ABE (Anyone But England) crowd will be lording it for the next few years on the back of this.

To be fair to the Aussies, they're a decent enough bunch, so fair play to your lot.....anyway, our game's football.....just as well really, ain't it.

I'm game enough for the hat with corks though. Sounds like you're planning on crowning me as King, maybe I've gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick?

I dont suppose you Americans would understand it, and even if you did, you dont have the bails for it.

(cue laughs from the Aussies, Kiwis, Brits, Irish and other Empire types, and confusion and possibly outrage at the perceived typo from the Americans......)

Right you can bet on it, you can even kill a team coach if he is the coach of the side you have bet on and his team loses - genuinely.

Has the murder of Bob Walmer now been positively linked to match fixing et al NG?

I know it was a line of enquiry, but I havent heard much about it lately.

I took Monday off as I knew I'd be a wreck from sitting up all Saturday night to watch the final....  After a disappointingly prolonged tournament, am soooo looking forward to my "biological clock" ticking normally again!  But not only did the best team win, the *right* team won!  *wink*

It's nearly 8am Monday morning now - I'm going back to bed.... lol

That is a good idea, we can make another push for a republic and crown you king of Australia, I am sure HRH will understand.

That made me laugh aloud.

And as far as I know Bob Woolmer's death is still being investigated as a possible murder.

Cricket, nice.

Yeah, it ain't on a par with 300lb body-armoured square-heads barking "champions of the WORRRRRLD" in each other's face after winning your *national* football grand final (Superbowl?) but a billion and a half cricket fans World wide seem to enjoy it....
