I am not fond of candle play because I have used what I was told were solid paraffin and ended up with blisters, sometimes on me and sometimes on my bottom.

I have a paraffin bath for hands and feet and when I want to do wax play I use it, and then use a ladle or cup to pour, or grab it with my fingers. Fingerpainting with slowly cooling wax is lots of fun.

Just have to deal with plugging the paraffin bath in far enough in advance that you can use it, and having enough time for the wax to cool and not spill afterwards if you are traveling back home.

my first wax play was great!  there ended up being 6 people dripping wax of various colors.  each color seemed to be a different temp even at the same height; some just a warmth and some were like fire.  i really liked when (after i had a good base coat) the hottest were dripped quite heavily and close.  first there was just warmth but it would quickly heat up, continuing even after the dripping had stoppped.  then there would be a slow fade of the heat.  when they were finished i was covered in almost an inch of wax from my collar bones to my upper thighs.  the parts coating my nipples and pussy were carefully removed and i saved them (a good coating of oil facilitated that).  the rest was 'cut' off.  that was almost as much fun as the waxing itself.  fortunately i was playing with some very experienced people who knew what they were doing so the mess was very well contained.  i had been well oiled before hand and had help scrubbing the oil and small random bits of wax off my skin afterwards.  so cleanup was not bad at all.

Thank you for sharing your detailed account of wax play; your passion springs through your words, and is infectious...[;)]  How long between drippings or pours, and how long does the "application" element last?  Or do you start, stop, go on to something different, then start a fresh pour/drip, on so on?

Thank you for the new suggestions for wax play, i will have to talk with my Dom today and see what he wants to do with it. i do know for a fact though, that he will be moving "up", meaning to my chest area with the different colored candles on Monday, which i am excited about.

Thanks so much for your words, they are very appreciated.

For time?  Gosh anything and everything.  Generally at least two hours from start to finish of the scene, sometimes much longer.  I tend to run out of good melted wax before I want to end :)

Once I have a good overall layer, I generally just like to play with sensations built on that layer.  Taking it off would make them cold and exposed and I don't want that to be a distraction to them OR an extra thing to think about.  I've spent so much time getting them into a responsive trance state, I don't want to tilt it over.

That being said, if someone really wants me to fuck with a bottom, I have no problem ripping off multiple wax layers, dumping a boatload of hot wax on them, ripping THAT wax off, and then dumping some very cold water.

But no one's really wanted that or wanted me to do it to their sub yet...

Once I get the overall layer, I get more into the play.  I brush the wax on their hands, I make designs, I play with the heat up and down to test their sensitivities, adding on wax as we go.

Eep!  My mix is generally one block of paraffin per large candle.  Gives me the oily consistency I want with a good temperature regulation.

Congrats on your exploration of wax play. There was a time that I really loved wax play. I did so much of it that I was asked to do classes to teach techniques. It has now lost it's magic to me because of doing it so much. I still do it on occasion but now I have to play before I do the wax because otherwise it is possible that I would get bored. Every once in a while I see someone that does something with it that I have not done before and I think hmmm gotta try that lol It is a wonderful type of play I just suggest that you not do it so much that it gets old (as with any type of play l)ol

Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice TigressFL, it will be fun, yes for a while. And luckily for me, i just started, so any avenues i can take with it will be fun to explore.

For protecting surfaces, I usually use shower curtain liners ($2 a pop at Walmart) or plastic tablecloths from the dollar store.   They're cheap enough that you can just roll them up and throw them out when you're finished.

That’s a good idea. Wax blocks drains and destroys washing machines.
