it boggles my mind that we are privatizing many roads here. roaads built with taxpayer money!!!!

Honestly, having driven through various parts of PA a bunch of times over the years, i figure you may as well give it a shot... it really can't be much worse than what you've got now.

Jack45 -> RE: Gasoline headed to $4.50 (4/27/2007 3:05:35 PM)

The lemmings are oblivious to reality, they live in virtual reality.
They slept while a lobby was molding the US Congress to its aims and purposes. There is a cost to such somnambulance, high gas and home heating oil prices.
Before Iraq invasion gasoline was a little over a dollar, U.S. now it is nearing $4.
Saddam sold oil to US at reasonable prices with a secure supply, however the lobby wanted Iraq to be torn apart in civil war with warring tribal factions, and so it is today.
In 1973 Richard Nixon virtually denuded forward NATO bases to resupply Israel during the Yom Kippur war. The Arabs retaliated
with an oil embargo. This gave rise to an enormous increase in price of gasoline AND rationing with US drivers only permitted to buy gasoline on days (odd/even) which matched the last digit on their license plates.
Stagflation, inflation, and many of the economic prolbems that linger today are due to this foreign policy decision of 1973 and which continues to this very day to the expense of Americans who do not have a foreign policy that is in their own best interests but in the interests of  a foreign lobby.

it started w the chicago skyway- an overpriced roaad no-one took -as there is an alternate rout.

Now the PA, and IN turnpikes are up for bid.  IMO- this is a way of busting the unions. instead of state employees collecting tolls- or doing roadwork- it will be a non-union job-w no benefits. at teh same time- rates will increase- lets face it corporates exist -their lifeline is profit.

as far as bad roads- i dont think PAs roads are any worse- and yes- I have travelled outside of PA. i will say they are poorly designed tho.

And what say you about the fact the Saddam changed policy to accept Euros for oil instead of US Dollars?

Yup... and the lemmings keep on rewarding them by buying their shares.
