The intersting thig would be to try to teraform mars, though I suspect since it has no Magnetic field it will prove impossible. It used to have a molten core and magnetic field, but it solidified around the time it lost its oceans. Some scientists are suspecting something similar is in store for the earth
My error...my original post was in reference to "seeding"...as in seeds.
Plants.
Oxygen.
Atmosphere...stuff that takes a few million years. Before we get there.
My original question was more along the lines of "is it time to consider seeding planets now....lots of them, considering we have what appears to be a few million, perhaps a few hundred million years left in our sun"?
Perhaps it's now time to consider finding (as the original post suggests we may have found) planets that are capable of growing plants, life, trees, oxygen....and "seeding" them.
We won't be there until we can actually get there in a life sustaining time frame....but plants, oxygen, atmosphere, all that stuff will take millions of years. If it takes a million years for us to get the stuff of life there...and spread it amongst the winds (if there are any), it may be just exactly enough time for the planet to prepare itself for us.
(Maybe that's how we got here in the first place?)
