Depends on your work schedule. If you are free on weekends, there is SOMETHING to attend almost every single weekend in Austin. Many weekends there are many events with conflicting schedules so you have to pick and choose.

I'm never free on weekends. That's one reason I'm looking for a new job!

There are a few events in Austin during the week. The RackIt club happy hour is one. But to be truthful there aren't many. I'm guessing that you have days off during the week that you could drive to Austin...attend something...then drive home to Houston. Just like most would do on weekends.
It's hard to battle the 8-5 M-F schedule that the majority keep. Good luck on the job search.

What a thrill to see that many groups alive and well in Austin. When I moved there over ten years ago, there was NLA and GWNN and Bound by Desire (an all female group which I trust is still around) There is also the first group for submissives in that area which I founded Austin subCulture. I believe they are still having meetings on the first thursday of the month. Have fun exploring!

NLA died a few years back. I regret it as I learned a lot at their functions.
Bound by Desire is still around.
Austin subCulture is now one of 3 or 4 sub support groups in Austin.

Yup, it was satire on what guys sometimes say. I wrote as if I were writing to a random person posting on a thread. The little cut-off copyright mention was meant to suggest as if I had copied the poem from somewhere to present as mine and didn't even get the cut and paste right. I had thought to go back and put in internet speak and intentional spelling errors but left it as is.

I am sorry for any confusion :)

I am unlikely to be at the CTK event but whenever we see each other, I would love to tell you about the outcome of a project about which you and I spoke at a party some time ago.
