Amur Leopard Stew

***Remember the meat of the female is always more tender than that of the male!!! Cubs are delicious as well!!!

2 pounds cubed Amur Leopardess stew meat
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 carrots, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
2 onions, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon ground dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 cubes beef bouillon, crumbled
1 cup water
1 cup Burgundy wine
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cook the Amur Leopardess on the stove over medium heat in a large, ovenproof pot or roaster until brown. Remove from heat and stir in flour until cubes are coated. Stir in carrots, celery and onions. Season with salt, thyme, mustard, pepper and bouillon. Finally, pour in water and wine. Cover.
  3. Bake in preheated oven 4 hours. Serve hot.

Also goes well with a side dish of boiled head

Why do the animals in 21 century deserve a reprieve from extinction? Are they some how more deserving than all the thousands upon thousands upon thousands of species that have globe before them?

As to having too many people on the planet...

The entire whole of humanity could live quite comfortably within the boundaries of the state of Rhode Island.

Perhaps some people perceive the extinction of other animals being caused by factors which will eventually result in the extinction of people and want to do something about it while there is still time.

Rhode Island covers approximately 1,045 square miles.  When you divide that by 6 billion, you end up with 0.004 square feet per person, or approximately 17 square inches.  For those keeping track, 17 square inches is slightly larger than a 4 inch square of land.

I am not sure about you, but my body viewed from above is larger than a 4 inch square, and I am in great shape.

You might want to think about what you post before you post.  The alternative is that one ends up sounding like an idiot.

If the Tyrannosaur dies off, what will kill and eat all the Sauropods?  They will multiply out of control and cover Patagonia!

If the Sabertooth goes extinct, what will hunt and kill the Mastodon?  They will multiply out of control and cover North America!

Hmm...kinda glad all four are extinct.

Yes, extinction is sad, but the Earth seems to be pretty resiliant in creating other life that takes the niche once filled by another.  Tens of thousands of dinosaurs are extinct...and no one cried for them when they died.  Why waste tears now?

I can answer this.

There but for the grace of Nature goes humanity.

Well then tell me...

How much land would they get in say... Nebraska?  Still not enough yard? How about Texas?

About this time in 2507 I wonder what whiney hand wringing liberals will be worrying about?

I am going to let you do your own math, FatDomDaddy.

Here is a web site that can help you out.

And that is bad how?  If we as a whole are so effin stupid we kill off our own race, that is a good thing.

Hope springs eternal.

Regarding your other comments, I agree.  I just have this weird idea that I should at least try to make the world a better place and try to avoid another mass extinction.

But that is just me and I could be wrong.

I once heard an environmentalist compare a species' going extinct to an airplane's losing a screw. One or two might be no big deal; but as dozens, even hundreds, of screws pop, you start to wonder how safe the plane is.

As for bad math, trying to divide the land mass in rhode island by 6 billion sorta gets lost in the translation as we are not squares and lie only on one plain, instead we are three dimensional and thus the land mass must be multiplied by the height a building can be nuilt and then divided by the number of people times the average cubic area each uses which is naturally extremely small in the case of a baby but large in the case of someone who is overweight.  You can never come up with a correct answer.

The same things we worry about now: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I would think whether you are a FatDomDaddy Conservative or if you are a whiny hand wringing liberal that you would show some sort of concern and at least contemplate the meaning of the removal of an entire species of plant or animal from the face of this world. To me it seems a bit more troubling when the extinction of such life can be directly linked to our presence and all to often our sheer disregard for the needs of the life that shares this space...Especially when the destruction of a species is directly correlated with the needless and senseless killing or the spoiling of the environment from building, pesticides or just reckless pollution or dumping.

It does depend on your view of the world....If you view the Earth as nothing more than a limitless resource for our use and disposal and the rivers and streams as nothing more than a dumping ground for our factories and a toilet for humanity then you will not care about the consequences....I would think that even a FatDomDaddy has more sense and possibly a bit more compassion than to be able to just laugh or shrug your shoulders as species one by one dissapear from this planet.

Good point, and here I was thinking I had an idiotic response because I was thinking putting 6 billion people in the state of Rhode Island might make feeding them all to be problematic.

Thanks for the clarification.

Not to point out the obvious....As I am sure that you are intelligent enought ot grasp the difference between a species disappearing before "our" time and another that becomes extinct solely based upon our lack of caring for the environment....I know that some of these species would have met their demise regardless of our actions...However there are far too many occasions where our total disregard of the environment has led to land lakes and rivers being so devastated that nothing can no longer thrive there...I find this type of behaviour to be irrehensible at the least....Are we the type of people who care so little about our environment that such devastation can just be ignored and justified as acceptable losses in the pursuit of "progress"....I know that there is a happy medium.

Actually, we wouldn't have survived in the time of the dinosaurs.  We would have been hunted and eaten, just like any other mammal.
Humanity is not responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs.  We *are* responsible for the extinction of other species however, and it is for those I, yes I, cry.  It is very sad to see any living creature that does not have a voice that can be heard in the human world perish completely.
