Clint Eastwood was my boyfriend since I was a teen; he just never knew it. [:D]

... how very well put.  I felt that way about someone (not Clint, as tempting as he may be) too.

happypervert -> RE: Media Influences vs who attracts you (4/23/2007 5:05:00 AM)

The media has influenced my attractions -- after hearing about Lorena Bobbit, I lost all interest in chicks from Ecuador.

StellaByStarlite -> RE: Media Influences vs who attracts you (4/23/2007 5:21:53 AM)

I have a not-so-secret lust for Mafia icons. Tony Soprano, Micheal Corleone. Armand Assante as John Gotti.

But as usual in the fantasy arena, I tend to focus on the sexy part and forget about the reality. If I ever had the opportunity to be a mobster's goomah, I'd probably run.

But I've always been attracted to that same "type" anyway... Italian-American men who love to dine out and have a good sense of style. A bit chauvinistic and possessive, too.

Ha, now that is weird, but it got me thinking. That woman on Fox Sports who stands there sexy when they do the countdown to various themes. She is athletic, sports minded and sexy as hell. Know who I mean?

Did the media influence you? Can you find predictible patterns in what attracts you, and the choices you have made with your partners?

Actually what I learned several years ago is that I edited my memories of mass media to reflect what I found attractive. So there were cartoons and tv shows that I thought only had a few episodes even if they were on for years similar because I remembered the episodes where men (boys) were tortured, kidnapped or served women (girls).

As the years have gone by more and more these images are incorporated into more of the mass media and thus I can relate to more and more mainstream media.

rarely, if ever, watched TV as a wee one---it was an "adult" luxury in our household, with only one strictly controlled channel available that went to salt and pepper fights at night.

for this slave, anyone who is a slave to celebrity, or has taken on an Agent/Master to direct their career is instantly transformed into un-attractive, no matter how "good-looking" or dedicated the character they portray is.

this slave has always found herself attracted to qualities and looks that are unique to the individual.

there has been no pattern, over time, other than a heterosexual bent~even went out with a twin once, and was incredibly turned OFF by the identical-looking other twin!

Is this like that joke on "Friends" where you can pick five clebrities that you can sleep with with no repercussions?

I have tried that one... But I always pick my "celebrity exception" to be someone I could maybe meet/get with one day... so it's never Kosher...

especially since I have a gf who consideres even a random drunken kiss as betrayel and I think that you an go MUCH further than that before its an issue.... ehm... so its not easy having "exceptions"

And even though I'm into girl, I get wet everytime I see Chakotay on Star trek voyager, especially the episode where's Seven of Nine is having sexdreams abouthim.... Og dear.....

I went to college with Bob (Chakotay).  Oh the stories.  Let's just say that as amazing as Jeri Ryan is.... she never had a chance with him.

I guess it makes him a better actor than you might think.

Missokyst -> RE: Media Influences vs who attracts you (4/23/2007 8:19:53 AM)

Heh... yeah that is one gorgeous woman.  I wouldn't do her but I can't say I would object to watching.

Jadzia Dax on Deepspace Nine, oh my fucking god, brilliant, fine shot, loved rough sex, and fucked a Klingon.  What the hell more could you ask for other than being Jewish?

I've always been attracted to the big dorky guys on TV ....Fred  Gwynn (sans the herman munster regalia)  Also the guy who played Ray Romano's brother on his show.  Of course...the big non dorky gorgeous ones got me too...like Tom Selleck...

ana85 -> RE: Media Influences vs who attracts you (4/23/2007 11:14:05 AM)

I don't think the media influenced who I was attracted to really. There are alot of people on t.v. that are hot, but I have to have my mind involved to find them attractive. I used to have the hugest crush on this guy in school, small build, geeky, red hair... but he had the sexiest mind, so damn smart without making me feel like an idiot when I asked him what the hell he was talking about. Since I've been attracted to/been involved with alot of different physical types and personalities, I can't say the media really influenced me.

Aubre -> RE: Media Influences vs who attracts you (4/23/2007 11:59:53 AM)

spankmepink - Check out the comedy Til Death. It has Brad Garrett on it.

When I saw Avengers reruns on US TV I loved Emma Peel.

Missokyst -> RE: Media Influences vs who attracts you (4/23/2007 3:54:24 PM)

Emma Peel was very hot.  I always wanted her legs.

Some of us are old enough to recall seeing them the first time around...    :-(
But Diana Rigg certainly knew how to wear leather!

windchymes -> RE: Media Influences vs who attracts you (4/23/2007 4:36:52 PM)

I kinda have a thing for Alton Brown from the Food Network.  He's sort of geeky but in a sexy way.  Plus, I like brainy guys with a quick wit and good sense of humor.

adoracat -> RE: Media Influences vs who attracts you (4/23/2007 4:37:50 PM)
