Is that why so many people press for a phone chat immediately? I had assumed they were just pushing for personal information quickly, and I've been balking. It never even occurred to me that it might be to verify I'm actually female. Silly me. I've encountered quite a few benders in online games I play. Most of them are easy to spot, because very few actual women, and even fewer female gamers, will describe their posteriors as 'luscious'. If it's an over-the-top, overly sexual description, it's a pretty good bet you're dealing with an HNG. I wonder if this dynamic applies here as well. [sm=preen.gif]

A stooge I use to work with would make a ladies screen name on Yahoo and go into the lesbian rooms and have ladies show him some skin on web cam. He would pose as a lady and tell them he was getting a web cam on pay day to show some skin back. It worked for him. The fast phone contact request is to get to the point fast to see if they are serious about a real time relationship or playing online games. Some ladies would tell me they were going to call me at a certain time and call much later, to see if I was really single or married.

Yes there are people that like to lead others on online for various reasons. They could be in a relationship with a real piece of garbage they would want to leave but do not have high enough self esteem to do it. We discuss it at work about the local Myspace ladies that pose as single but have had a worthless bum for years and are not single. We think they try to make themselves seem like hot property.

It sounds like everyone's met a wanker or two. I have come to expect differences between the online screen name and the real person. Lately, I've considered it the rule, not the exception. CM, while fun, and a great source of intellectual and social stimulation, is only one small portal into the world. Keep it in perspective. Assigning undue importance to wankers will just frustrate you.

I have had only one (that I know of) encounter like this. The whole thing felt a little off. Their story was not, to me, at all realistic. I know of no woman who was raped as a teen that "enjoyed" the experience. The voice chat sealed the deal in the same manner as the OP. Its not my particular kink to pretend to be what I am not but I hope they find what they seek in some fashion. Honesty does not fit into the Crying Game sort of thing.

I'm on one, NOW. I can surf faster than I do at work, with this thing. The cost is a little higher than with normal broadband, and CERTAINLY higher than dial-up, BUT, I can surf from ANYWHERE that I can get nromal cell-phone reception. ANYWHERE!!! Which is a boon, to me, because I infrequently travel frequently, in my day-job. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
