LuckyAlbatross -> Get it out of my head!!! (4/16/2007 2:17:21 PM)

I saw Jesus Christ Superstar for the first time about two weeks ago.  The Alamo was having a sing-along and my partner REALLY loves the musical so I wanted to have some exposure to it beforehand.

So we watch and sing along, and then we watched it at home again this week.

And I can NOT get the freakin songs out of my head.  I have a knack for learning melodies and songs very quickly and I think my mind is going on overdrive trying to drive it all into my brain from only 3 viewings.

But if I have to hear Pilate in my head going "That is not an an-SWER!" one more time I swear I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.

OMG, that sounds so awesome.  I was at the Alamo twice this past year, since my niece lives in San Antonio, and fell in love with the place anyway.  Where did they do it, inside in the courtyard?

This was the Downtown one in Austin, the original.  It only has one screen.  They also had a costume contest and a guy dressed up as Jesus who hosted a "What would I do?" contest.

They also do Buffy singalongs, Lost showings, and this week it's a "Clockwork Orange" showing with free "milk plus."

CypherEnigma -> RE: Get it out of my head!!! (4/16/2007 2:25:54 PM)

That old muppet song "Mah Na Muh Nuh" tends to pop into my head at strange times.. then get stuck there.

cjenny -> RE: Get it out of my head!!! (4/16/2007 2:26:10 PM)

I still own the double album soundtrack from the movie. The movie was actually my introduction to the concept of Christianity...I saw it when I was 8 lol.

'Whats the buzz? Tellme whatsa happenin, whats the buzz?'

Will this help???

It's a world of laughter,
A world of tears.
It's a world of hopes,
And a world of fears.
There's so much that we share,
That it's time we're aware,
It's a small world after all.
Chorus:
It's a small world after all.
It's a small world after all.
It's a small world after all.
It's a small, small world.
There is just one moon,
And one golden sun.
And a smile means,
Friendship to every one.
Though the mountains divide,
And the oceans are wide,
It's a small world after all.
Chorus:
It's a small world after all.
It's a small world after all.
It's a small world after all.
It's a small, small world.
(Repeat ad nauseam until it's permanently etched into your neural synapses.)

The Alamo is one of the few things I miss about my visits to Austin.  The next time they show "Holy Weapon" you have to go see it.  It's one of the most bizarre kung-fu movies ever.

Oh, I thought you meant THE Alamo, since I knew you moved to Texas, lol.  Still sounds really awesome, though!

Hmm I'll think about it.  Alamo is awesome, we often have to remind ourselves "There are OTHER theaters we can go to with other showtimes"

ROFL hahaha sorry no.  Never made it to "The Alamo."

Alamo's are a chain of movie theaters which serve food and all sorts of beverages during the show, and often have crazy showings and events along with it.

NakedOnMyChain -> RE: Get it out of my head!!! (4/16/2007 2:50:52 PM)

I can sing you some Rocky Horror if that would help.  That tends to overtake whatever else is place incessently, in my brain anyway.  [:D]  It sounds like it was a good time, though.

Termyn8or -> RE: Get it out of my head!!! (4/16/2007 2:59:48 PM)

That 'It's a small world" is not going to cut it. I'm bringing out the big guns. Please note that this has a very haunting melody, with bizarre chorography.

The night is when they come,
Don't know where tehy're from,
Digest you as you live,
As you work and beg and give

Just like dreams of the night,
They can escape your sight

<With the tower watching,
<And the utmost caution

You're still not safe at night,
Still not safe at night

Dreams can be your friend,
The fun might never end,
Some that won't come true,
All because of you

Add up what you got,
It might be alot

<But all you really own,
<Is your flesh and bone

And everytthing you can't tell,
The things that just won't sell,
The things you know so well,
Your own personal hell

Careful what you say,
It happens every day,
If you don't use your head,
Might just wish you were dead

All falls into place,
Let nature take her pace

<But you can't do a thing,
<And you'll never bring

Sanity to our race,
Sanity to our race

The almighty buck is great,
Most wouldn't hesitate,
They never even think,
That they could be gone in a wink

<When fools rush in,
<They rarely win

And the bodies begin to smell,
And their voices go to hell,
And they make an evil noise,
Cause they made an awful choice.

An echo can be heard,
If you understand the word

<I don't mean religion,
<Obsessive precision

But the underlying theme,
The thought behind the scheme

You need not drop your head,
When speaking of the dead,
You need not walk on by,
When you hear a damsel's cry

<You'd be better off dead,
<Than to fill your head

With the people bullshit buys,
People bullshit buys

If you think you need not try,
And you never wonder why,
Don't wonder why there's pain,
It's pointless to explain

Shouldn't have to explain,
Why you'd do it all again

<Some can learn and grow,
<And come to know

The answer in the end,
The answer in the end,
The answer from within,
Is the answer in the end.

Recite that four to six times as needed to forget Jesus Christ Superstar. Eight to ten times to forget Jesus period, and twelve to fourteen times if you would like to be put into a straitjacket.

Y'know that is something, I almost wrote that on the fly. However it seems to be becoming more coherent, I see a meaning that I didn't really mean when I wrote it, but I will let it stand. But then maybe I did mean it.

No, you sick fuck.

I prefer to think of myself as a sadistic bitch personally...however sick fuck will certainly do.

At least I didn't do this...

Every time I look at you
I don't understand
Why you let the things you did
Get so out of hand
You'd have managed better
If you'd had it planned
Now why'd you choose such a backward time
And such a strange land?

If you'd come today
You could have reached the whole nation
Israel in 4 BC had no mass communication
Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong, now
Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong, now
Don't you get me wrong

Only want to know
Only want to know
Only want to know, now
Only want to know
Only want to know
Only want to know
Only want to know, now
Only want to know

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ
Who are you? What have you sacrificed?
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ
Who are you? What have you sacrificed?
Jesus Christ
Superstar
Do you think you're what they say you are?
Jesus Christ
Superstar
Do you think you're what they say you are?

Tell me what you think
About your friends at the top
Now who d'you think besides yourself
Was the pick of the crop?
Buddah was he where it's at?
Is he where you are?
Could Muhammmed move a mountain
Or was that just PR?
Did you mean to die like that?
Was that a mistake or
Did you know your messy death
Would be a record breaker?

Don't you get me wrong Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong, now Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong Don't you get me wrong
Don't you get me wrong, now Don't you get me wrong

Only want to know Only want to know
Only want to know, now Only want to know
Only want to know Only want to know
Only want to know, now I only want to know

Jesus Christ

Who are you? What have you sacrificed?

Who are you? What have you sacrificed?

god i miss the alamo!! i went to the one on south lamar. fun times.

Marc2b -> RE: Get it out of my head!!! (4/16/2007 6:20:24 PM)

The only cure for getting one musical’s tunes out of your head is to replace it with another's. I saw "Oliver!" at Stratford last year and still find myself singing, "consider yourself at home! Consider yourself, part of the family..."

soultoshare -> RE: Get it out of my head!!! (4/16/2007 6:22:47 PM)

well, as someone mentionede on antoher thread...there's always the Safety Dance!

Marc2b -> RE: Get it out of my head!!! (4/16/2007 6:23:38 PM)

And speaking of people named Oliver...

I’m looking at your picture right now and thinking to myself, now we know what became of that annoying little blond headed kid they brought in to up the cuteness factor.  So I guess you didn't die in Vietnam, huh?

soultoshare -> RE: Get it out of my head!!! (4/16/2007 6:24:30 PM)
