Have you ever spent time looking for something in life (not really talking about that missing remote) only to discover it's been right in front of you and for some reason you just weren't seeing it?

Are you kidding me?  I still beat myself up for letting my partner galavant and encourage him to date other people and totally not recognize that he was right in front of me and there I was putting him totally at risk to be snatched up by some dumbass dominant.

I've only had this happen to me on days that end with a "y".

Kind of, I have had the 'not knowing what i had until it was gone.' I think there's so much we don't see around us because we are too wrapped up in other things.
My Sir kind of summed it up the other day quite well. We have been having some problems which resulted in me saying i wanted release and he after thinking about it said that 'i was an opportunity that knocked so softly he hadn't really heard it in the loudness of the rest of his life.'

Wow, that is so appropriate. Sometimes I think if I just slowed down a bit I might get a better look at all the stuff I'm whizzing past.........

Absolutely. I spent most of my life trying to make myself into something... when I was already there. I hit a weird sort of contentment with myself when I realised that & I gotta say it is an awesome feeling of empowerment.
I'm okay  and then some.

Yes.  The mistreatment I was receiving in my marriage.

Also...life itself.   You can get so wrapped up in planning your life that you cease to actually live it.  When I learned you can actually live and enjoy life while planning for the future, wow did I find some happiness!

Me too. The funny thing is when Sir said this i realised that i was also in my asking for release not realising what i actually had in front of me.

On the other hand, things/people can be absolutely great in many ways...and still not be "right" or at the "right time" to be together.

Definately. You know some of the background with my relationship and things were bad. Hopefully it will work itself out now everyone is being honest and it will be 'right'.

Ya know...having really thought about it, I can't say that this has happened to me. Either I'm pretty aware of who is around me (because I don't let many people in as close, intimate friends) or I'm still blind. I have, however, been on the other side. I feel I am right now with someone.

It is called fulfillment (love), which arises only in your own heart, exactly where you have always felt it.

I know that when I stopped looking for something, the very think I had been searching for for so long came along, and way way better than I thought I was looking for. I made a decision to stop looking for Mr Right and just get on with my life and hey presto along comes Mr Perfect.

Yes of course, it is a part of life-learning.
This is an important element of what is missing; the lesson, in T/those which simply refuse to have a “spiritual” side to T/their lives. I do not mean automatically religious but the sense, awareness of/in something other than “self”.

Enjoy your wonder-filled day

Yes, Hubby as my Dom. All it takes is good communication.

OMG yes.  For me, though, it was not so much a matter of not knowing that what I wanted was right in front of me, but rather not being able to get it.  I needed to learn how to make him really understand that bdsm was very needed in my life.  It took me eighteen years and some very poor choices along the way, but I finally found the voice and the right words.

i try not too = )  i try not to take things around me for granted as i am all to aware at how fast things can be snatched away.  i spent most of my teenage hood watching thing after thing be snatched out from under my feet before i was fully able to really appreciate it.  Once you lose something and the realization of what you really had hits you.....  and you know its really really gone..... forever gone....... no more...... its not a feeling you want to re create.

So as an adult i go great lengths to see what i have around me.  At times, i get caught up, but i always try and bring myself back to earth.

And on that note - today i looked for hair conditioner in the shower and i looked at this little bottle.. and i read the label and read the label (like 3x)...........  and it took until AFTER it was in my hair to see it was not conditioner.. but hand lotion

Sometimes we are so caught up in looking for something, we don't see we have it already under our own damn nose.  Either we are blind to see it, embrace it, or it's not speaking loud enough.

At times we are blind or do not see the Great things we already have, or try to ignore the Bad things going on.  Only to kick ourselves in the ass later.

I know there have been a few that we totally into being with me, however I was not wanting to push past a friendship.  However, they were there, willing, hoping and wanting for me.  Me, I was off chasing after others.  Anyways, then later on to hear how much they were hoping for more, keeping quiet about it.  In a sense, they felt a little hurt by me chasing after somebody else instead of them.   I was simply not wanting to push or messed up a friendship I valued most.  Talk about being blind. Dugh!!
