Status: offline 		Not sure where I have been (English) but what exactly is ‘Gender Neutral’?
We use the word ‘Pansexual’ and Im presuming, though perhaps I should not presume anything, that ‘gender neutral’ is the same as but I saw on one of the threads last night that it was not a feminist thing, so if its not feminist then what is it?
I can get my head round gender neutral marriage and I can get my head round gender neutral employment but Im having difficulty with ‘pronoun’ because the need to change pronoun seems to equal feminism.

Status: offline 		Well I know in Europe last Summer, I ran into one or two hotels and restaurants that had "gender nuetral" restrooms. Which means either sex can use them (and the stalls all had doors, so it's not like the females are forced to use urinals, or there is no privacy at all).

They've both a urinal, and a separate ceramic seat, for the ladies. It took some getting used to, but was fine, and saves space I guess, since they only need to use one room, vs. two. But overall, I prefer separate restrooms for males and females, still. 

Maybe that is what it means? *For use by either sex? Maybe it depends on the context though, I am not sure.

Status: offline 		Hmm I find it is interesting that it English speaking peoples are overly concerned about the gender designated words in the language when it more gender neutral than many languages. Obviously it says a lot about politics rather than language.

As for gender neutral toilets, France has always had them, they are just called toilets and either sex uses them, even though just about everything in the French language has a gender applied to it. My favourite bar has gender neutral 'toilets' and both sexes use them even though there is a line of urinals. No one seems to have a problem other than tourists. There is even a  dispenser of those funnels woman can use to piss in the urinals if they are fed up of waiting for a free cubicle. However, as for gender neutral meaning feminist, it is the raving fallopians that tend to complain about the gender neutral toilets as some sort of male conspiracy. You just can't win but as the bar owner points out, no one is forced to drink in his bar and no one is forced to use his toilets.

Most clubs in and around London have unisex toilets and a lot of gyms and swimming pools now have unisex changing room. Im more than happy to use those facilities but respect those people who wish to use gender specific ones.
Women are now welcome in the old ‘working mens clubs’ not that I would want to go in one! And if I want to dress like a bloke and walk through my town then nobody will bat an eyelid. If a man was to dress as a woman and do the same though, they would probably get a lot of unwanted attention, so is that gender neutral?

As far as language is concerned I couldn’t really give a toss apart from to say that its all about silly political correctness. Feminine and masculine pronouns are not sexist, at least I don’t see them as so. Confusing sometimes yes but not sexist.

I don't know who designed this urinal but a Dutch designer first designed and patented a female urinal.

*shrugs*  I don't see the point in a female urinal.  It's not like it's going to save a woman any time or effort.  Any time saved by not having to sit down and stand back up again would most likely be lost by having to undress to the point where straddling the silly thing would be possible, or in cleaning up the mess afterward.
