I was originally going to post this to the 'Ask a Submissive/Slave' section before I realised it could definitely apply to anyone really.

What skills would you like to learn that you think would add to your dynamic/lifestyle/scene/relationship?

For instance, I would love to learn to give a really wonderful massage. I think Daddy likes the ones I give him now, but it would be very cool if I knew just how to tweak and knead a muscle to get it to loosen up quickly and make the receiver go all melty and limp and sleepy.

I also would love to know how to serve a formal dinner or, though it is cliche lately, a proper tea ceremony. I love watching other people do these things - it can look like a dance or an act; a little show. It's not realistic for everyday application (there's just not enough time to serve tea for an hour every day), but I'd really enjoy being able to do those things if the need/desire arose.

I would also like to learn belly dancing or some other form of dance that would help me learn to be more graceful and sensual in my movements.

And, this last one is going to seem very odd: I'd like to take a class in debate. I'd like to be able to give Daddy a run for his money when we talk about things. I can have a very firm and knowledgeable stance on something, but I'm a horrible debater... I usually just give in or 'agree to disagree' out of fear of saying something mean or dumb.

What is it you would like to learn and how would it add to... whatever it is you do?

Interesting. Unless you're being sarcastic... which is fun too.

If you're serious: why bowhunting?

I'd like to learn how to actually use a flogger. I'm probably one of the very few doms that doesn't like the damn things, but it would be nice to know how to use one if i ever needed to use one.

I'll take the ability to give a massage too., for pretty much the exact same reasons raevnn listed, plus it can do wonders as a scene prep tool that goins to involve strenous bondage.

Thats just a very few out of about 40 or so things I'd like to learn how to do at some point in time.

Take ballet and tai chi/yoga.  Ballet can work wonders on graceful motions.  The fine motor control necessary to achieve some of the postures and forms required of ballet  is very substantial and will sharpen your sense of balance.  Yoga/tai-chi complements that with slow, very exact movements and is all about smoothness and flexiblity.

Bowhunting an improving my rifle skills are also on my list... but for the most part there not related to dynamic/lifestyle/scene/relationship.  Well ok, not completely!  LOL

sorry raaven, it was sort of an homage to justheather....and her quirky personality.

but  i do think there is one skill above all else that would help any dominant...communication.

many folks think talking is all there is to it...but there is so much more...there is active listening, reflection, mirroring, being-with, inflection, theres finding a common goal and working out from there, there is compromise and negotiation and there is empathy.....

every one of these skills can be honed to machine like precision, it make take a year or so to learn and integrate them but if you seek out the books that teach these skills, you will be doing more for you dom and more for your self and the longevity of you dynamic the the most precise tea ceremony, or shiatsu massage ever could.

Don't apologise! I'm always 'outside' the jokes - I just thought there might actually be a reason for learning bow hunting (grace or something of that nature). :)

And I agree with you about communication... it's something I struggle with a lot sometimes.
I honestly never thought to get a book on the subject, however... are there any you suggest?
I know they have them, but knowing which ones are just a corny mush of nonsense (as some self help books can be), would be helpful!

What would I like to learn?

How to identify all the birds around me...
The names of all the flowers in the store... (Why aren't they labeled?)
The names of the different kinds of fabrics...

It is so annoying to be able to find things, but not to know their names so I can talk about them with somebody else...

How on earth did you learn to hypnotize people? That's a very interesting talent...
I'd probably use it for evil purposes if I'd learned such a thing. It's probably best that I don't... O.o

Thank you! I will have to peek around for the book :)

And thank you for the thread.
Computer hacking skills seem like a very big plus - I could have skipped this whole farce of being submissive and just taken my owner for all he was worth before I married him!

I want to learn...

How to dance erotically for Master. He wants me to do this for Him so much and i am horrible at it. It would please Him beyond words if I could do this for Him.

Also I want to learn how to deep throat without gagging. LOL

I could probably provide basic instruction in ice skating and bird identification since I've learned a bit about both already. :)

As for what I'd like to learn...  Probably something to help me become more graceful.  Belly dancing, perhaps.  I'd like to take a few drawing classes to improve the natural talent that everyone goes so nuts about so that I can actually be proud of it (but I'm not sure that's related to WIITWD).  I can cook, but I'd like to become more skilled at it.
