[8D] I agree

SimplyMichael -> RE: masters posting (4/13/2007 6:17:26 PM)

Probably for the same reason that the poor bastards who live on the East coast only find people on the West coast attractive and vice versa.

I was noticing the other day that the majority of the people who post on the forums are the same ones over and over again.  I also noticed that the males who state they are Masters, and really seem to be so post while the others who contact us looking for a sub/slave never post and in fact put the forum down.
I wonder if there is any methodolgy sp? to that.  Or if that is just the way to prove a real Master is found on the forum.

Would anyone like to voice an opinon on this observation.

patina

I've done both....post to submissives and post to the forums.  As thetammyjo noted, I think there is a minority of us who do.  And, it is true also that it depends on how you want to spend your time on here...constantly emailing others, looking for a partner or enjoying exchanges with one or several people and participating in the forum.  You can participate in the forum and still search for a partner or you can choose to just do the forum if you have a partner or you can spend all your time searching for a partner.  As I stated earlier, I agree with tammyjo that the minority of members post and some of us are searching and some are not.

whispers to Masterdstar,

i think you can pick up a an icecream cone for a dollar down at your local icecream store!

mystiquenz -> RE: masters posting (4/13/2007 8:41:35 PM)

patina,

an interesting observation, but it is simply not accurate to make sweeping statements and expect the one size shoe fits all.

must admit the Doms that I have been involved with, just don't have that thing for posting to forums on this site or any other ... lol ... so  i'm wondering what that means ... and yet ... the introduction was always through this site or a site like this  ... i guess patina, you can't judge a book by its cover ... :) ... i flick through all the pages and go to the back flap, if i like the ending the bookstore will be guaranteed of my purchase.

has been my observation long ago....
I can tell you one reason I know some dont come to forums...
well no...three
1) no need to read about others, dont give a damn
2) no need to give an opinion, dont care about others' anyway
I lied...4 !
3) not really looking to learn about lifestyle and learn new things within it, they like their own way
4) just looking to hook up, own, collar, uncollar, look again, own.....revovling door syndrome.

JMHO

Im sorry but this really botherd me. Just because someone doesnt post in an online forum doesnt mean any or these things. My Master reads and gets ideas from here but over all has no desire to be part of an online community when we are both part of a real life community where we both have the chance to learn real life hands on lessions meet people in the flesh.. Ever think that someone who isnt posting isnt posting because they dont have time for it because they are doing the things that are done here (sosialisation learning teacher shareing ideas) in real life and have no deisre to do it online??

Bounty i would defnitly put You, KOM, Troll, Sinergy, Simply Michael, Valyraen, and ExSteelAgain, all in the defnitly Master catagory.  Not to insult others but you fellers i just have developed a great deal of respect and trust with, some i have talked w/one on one with and You have helped me with a problem.  I appreciate it immensenly.

Slavetrainer2007 -> RE: masters posting (4/14/2007 5:43:12 AM)

Though i browse profiles occassionally, i typically dont  write private messages to others unless its in response to a message i get. I read alot on the boards and post some, depending on the thread. I , more or less, like reading about other peoples thoughts, experiences and ideas. It helps me further my own knowledge.

mstrjx -> RE: masters posting (4/14/2007 5:50:45 AM)

My purpose for being here (on CollarChat) is twofold, as others have touched on.

1) I believe that I have something of value to contribute to those who stop by, some of it humorous, but also in a serious intent.  Think of it as 'community service', and imagine me typing all of this in an orange jumpsuit.  Whatever I can do to help, as well as hasten the parole board's decision.

2) But in addition, any information about a person is 'more' information, and that gives posters or lurkers a chance to see more into my (well, all of our) mind and discern if what I speak of can bring value to them.  Maybe a thing or three that I post will induce someone to write, if for no other reason to comment on how they believe in the same things that I write here.

I'm not knocking any of those people, but I think it's based on your personal experience with them. You see them in a positive light, and so they are real. Those you haven't connected with, or who don't post often (or at all) give you nothing to go on. It's just the same with people you see day in and day out. You like the ones you know, you think some of the ones you don't are nice, or you don't like some for your own reasons; it's all based on perception. The more information you have, the more to back up your opinion or change your mind.

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: masters posting (4/14/2007 9:09:41 AM)

i was already a member here when Daddy and i met on another site. He has a profile but sometimes lurks and reads however He has no interest in responding in the forums. i free to represent and speak for us when necessary. nevertheless, some might find this to be very lazy and undomly of Him to police my activities here ...then again it's wrong to assume to know and understand the mind of my Daddy. sometimes i do get reprimanded for spending too much time here between shows and band interviews but we do discuss what's posted on the forums.

Suleiman -> RE: masters posting (4/14/2007 1:06:29 PM)

For my part, I prefer the forum. Any place that allows you to learn something of the nature of a person before discussing things on a more intimate level is a good thing. However, we have a habit of being a bit rough on people who claim to be masterly types and who say they are experienced, but are clearly blowing smoke. As such, there are a great many people who do not like to hang out in the forums, and they surely don't want a potential sub coming here and getting any funny ideas about self-respect, community support, or having fun.

cyber "friendships" are NOT the same as knowing someone in person.
Yes some personality comes out, what we want to see of that other person, but who is to say that what we think we see is really the reality of that person we think we know from the forums????

Someone here thinks she has me all figured out, but she hasnt a clue.

Oh what wise words. I think you have hit the nail on the head with this all.

DocTSH -> RE: masters posting (4/14/2007 2:09:26 PM)

It really depends on the person.  There are those who come here to view and others that come to comment.

Personally I have enjoyed watching my little girl post here as I have damn little time ( or perhaps she manages her time better ) and have found most of the posts that she shares to be of interest of like minded folk.

Since I have joined, I took an experimental route;  I perused profiles to seek what we are looking for and for responses, mainly for any profile that I considered interesting and stated they will always reply.  99.9% of those that claim they will always reply, do not.  Then I decided to post to some responses on the boards.  It seems on this site if you do not make a post, you do not get regonized to some degree, where as my little girl simply by being the cute thing she is gets hit on by anyone with moisture or a boner.  I roll when she gets a message from a young male that claims to be a "Master", the only Master I have ever met is 80 and lives in Jersey.

So, it doesn't matter really if someone posts here on the boards or not.  People are who they are.  If you want to get to know them and they are "Real", they will respond.

My little girl has a vast train of thought and I let her roll with it.  She will always post more than me, as she is an instigater for the truth and she never fails to share with me.

It's my day off, so forgive the typo's...

MadRabbit -> RE: masters posting (4/14/2007 2:23:18 PM)

I post because I find it enjoyable. I enjoy writing and I like discussions on different philosophies. I am not here specifically to learn or advance my own theory since I feal I have a pretty good ground to stand on. I view the forums much like I view my Playstation 2 : a distraction from my goal oriented life, but more productive.

I prefer Collarme.com forums over other cyber discussion groups because of the diverse crowd and because I dont have to worry about being censored by some fluffy telly tubby moderator.

I'm not actively searching at the moment because I dont have the time or energy in my personal life for a relationship. Besides, being another message in a huge swamp of them from a hundred other male doms competing for the attention of one submissive is not really my cup of tea. Gives them too much power and not a good way to start a relationship. My best prospects and friendships are all with woman who contacted me first or took interest in something I wrote on the forums.

At the end of the year, I was invited to join a discussion group that looked like it would be similar to this one, but it was theoretically for newbies and every few days there would be messages sent around advising against 1/10th of what goes on around here.

Personally, I think we have the capacity to learn more when there is some sort of friction, rather than someone making a post and 12 people come on just to say 'Good post.  Attaboy.'  When our emotions are aroused more, we have the capacity to bring in so much more.

It's not that I live for my 'snark' comments from time to time, but I feel good that I can give them and still have something positive come from it.

Master does not feel the need to post here - if I find something I feel he might be interested in, I will forward him the link or bring it up in conversation.  He's honestly not very active on the CM site at all (either side).

Master is a member here but I think He only has one post to His name [:)] I will bring threads to His attention sometimes, but He likes me to have a place of "my own" to go to. We are both members on another site (where we met lol). On there He has over 13,000 posts where I have less than 6000 [:D]
