I've never written based on a picture. The time's I've written have been because of something I read in the forums.

I like to see a pic with every letter that is sent to me. This helps me with the "weeding" process, and I always have that pic in my mind of who I am corosponding with. Helps with remembering who is who. Alot of people write me the same thing and i keep notes on each one.

My favorite two features on Collarme are the "browse photos" and "forums". In answer to Mercnbeth I have asked why certain pictures I upload don't get approved but Im told its because of standards. However, when I see other pictures similar it can be discouraging. My butt shot that was approved is now disapproved ....I really didnt understand that one. Now for some reason a photo I uploaded 2 days ago still has'nt been uploaded. Not sure whats going on but I do enjoy the site inspite of it.

I think you may be trying to make sense out of what I believe is mostly an arbitrary method of screening and approving. CM doesn't want to do anything that may get the site pulled and I'm not so sure that they have it all figured out, ie how to balance free speech and expression and still stay below the gov't's radar...So, I'm not sure the task is so much to try to understand it as it is to point the inconsistencies out to CM whenever they occur. If more people did this, I believe it would help CM to solidify their processes and lets them know they are being held accountable by their membership.

Thank you MistressNoName, I definitely want the site to stay on and grow. I just could not understand why a pic is approved one time then disapproved another. I will send the pic Im referring to. But the site is still good and the people Ive come in contact with have been interesting and supportive..

pictures don't mean squat to me because it is the core of the person that I find interest in... to judge one based on the external self is rather shallow.

the old saying, a picture is worth a thousand words doesn't apply... give me the 1000 plus words over a picture any day

MstrssPassion makes a good point. There have been a few times Im glad I didnt see the picture first because I would have missed out on a good person. However, attraction has nothing to do with being shallow. You like what you like. A picture will get my attention, but what you have to say will keep me there.
