You know the people there feel much safer in public than the people here?

The United States spends billions and billions of dollars on "defense" and cannot defend it's largest city, New York nor it's own military headquarters, the Pentagon.

Something is wrong with this picture...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Article 13. That a well-regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state; that standing armies, in time of peace, should be avoided as dangerous to liberty; and that in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.

"The Virginia Declaration of Rights", George Mason, June 12, 1776

people here crack me up...  you mention gun and yo0u can see terror in their eyes.  women especially.  we greew up with them as kids and they were fun toys that we had to be damn careful with.  yet for some reason so many people in america have this amazing fear of them.  i think its bewcause they have no exposure to them franklyu.  arms training would be another one of those issues that should be mandatory in scholl if nothing else to irradicate this inordinate fear that so many have when there is nothing to fear at all.

You got that right! Law-abiding citizens should be allowed to own machine guns, too...without all the red tape. Criminals don't go through all the paper work, why should honest citizens? In other words, anyone can own one, if he/she wishes to criminalize him/herself.

The ONLY good think Bush has managed to do is remind the left of why the 2nd Amendment was a very good idea.  I know all sorts of liberals that have always owned guns, I probably have more than almost anyone on CM and have certainly played with more exotic weaponry than anyone here and some here would claim I am a liberal.

I just wish Bush wasn't so anti-gun.  Under Clinton you have to build a funny looking assault rifle but at least you could buy everything to do it.  Under Bush we have to destroy the barrels on imports and they have made bringing in recievers so hard that what used to be a $150 is now three times that.

To people in this country that want to ban guns...you are going to have a lot of people shot and killed in the process of doing it. No one is going to give up that right without a fight.

you would have to do a 3/8" group at 300 if you ever want to grow up to be a sniper
