The new and last season of the Sopranos starts tonight at 9pm on HBO.
I hope a lot of people get "wacked" this season.
Like that punk "Christopher."
What self respecting gang would have a loud mouthed, drug using, loose cannon losser like him anyway.

Yep, a great show, coming to an end. I've been catching up on some of the older episodes, on A&E.

I noticed this show is very popular with men. I can appreciate it, just never got hooked on it. Maybe it has a lot to do with the "power factor" that seems indigenous to the mob charcters?

Yes, power is interesting [:D]....... but also, the show is well-written, and often shows life through a unique prism. And Lorraine Bracco is very hot lol.

I love the Sopranos and all other mafia movies!

We should get an online pool started on who gets whacked next. I'll toss in Uncle Jun'.

What do you think?  Is this season the "long goodbye"?  They seem to be trying to wrap up the supporting characters.  Although I find it sort of boring.  I'm watching the run on A&E as I've never watched it on HBO, although I"m watching the final season on HBO as well.  I'm finding what I've been seeing on A&E much more entertaining than the final season thus far.

What season are they on on A&E? I found the 4th to be pretty dull.

Who thinks the next one to get whacked is Paulie?

stef -> RE: Sopranos starts tonight! (4/23/2007 4:41:19 PM)

If Tony was going to kill Paulie, he would have done it in last night's episode.  My guess is that Phil has Chris killed.

I agree Stef, Paulie has survived the series.
A&E is currently on season 3.

dosent A&E censor alot of stuff though? or do they show the whole show as it aired on HBO?

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Sopranos starts tonight! (4/23/2007 6:38:55 PM)

I used to love the series. Last season seemed more like Queer as Folk than a mob show. This season seems a little more like it used to be, but everyone is super old. They hardly show the psychiatrist anymore.

Everybody else in a mob show has been on Sopranos, I'd like to see Ray Liotta on there. He was just on Smokin Aces. He seems to play cops alot now. He was always cool. He would have made a great Kirk Reincarnation for a redo of Star Trek.

99.9999 percent chance they censor the hell out of it. Language and nudity. You'll miss some tits and ass and all that wonderful colorful language.

Rumtiger -> RE: Sopranos starts tonight! (4/23/2007 6:43:27 PM)

peh, well fuck that, If I ask for roast pork I dont want a ham sandwich.

corsetgirl -> RE: Sopranos starts tonight! (4/23/2007 6:45:52 PM)

I have watched the older episodes on A&E.  A friend of mine who is a Mafia history buff and Soprano afficiando told me that James Gandolfini complained that he no longer wanted to portray Tony Soprano in a very negative light.  He felt this was putting Italians in that manner.  Of course my friend was telling me, if he had the money that Mr. Gandolfini was making, he would do whatever the writers would want him to do in portraying that character!  LOL

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Sopranos starts tonight! (4/23/2007 6:50:56 PM)

24 wasn't bad on A&E because it started on a regular channel with no harsh language or nudity. I have 3 seasons of Sopranos on DVD and Tony fucks alot of chicks. They also hangout in Bada Bings-the strip joint. You'd have to ask someone that has watched an episode on A&E, but I'm guessing blurs and cuts and hopefully no dialogue exchanges where they change the word to something really silly.

There was this great scene where Tony visits a female boss in Italy. He has visions of fucking her while dressed as a Roman warrior. That was an older episode- The show used to be alot better.

If you have HBO on Demand, sometimes you can watch all the episodes in the series, but I haven't seen them do that in sometime.

Rumtiger -> RE: Sopranos starts tonight! (4/23/2007 6:54:06 PM)

I'll just get the DVDs

sucks my guido trio still aint around, I'm pretty sure they had the whole collection.

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Sopranos starts tonight! (4/23/2007 6:59:30 PM)

The show has lost some balls, but is great for the first few seasons. They have episodes with the traitor from the Matrix(I forgot his name). He always makes a good bad guy.

Of all of them, Chris deserves it the most. He's a major liability. If it wasn't for his close ties to Tony, he would have been dead by now.

I'm envisioning Tony being sucked down into a bigger vortex of paranioa then he already is. If TONY is going to kill anybody, it might be the ones we least expect.

KatyLied -> RE: Sopranos starts tonight! (4/24/2007 8:57:43 AM)

Did anyone else feel a need for Dramamine while watching Sunday's episode?
And, yes A&E is highly censored.  I will probably pick Ralph as my favorite character so I will may rent seasons 3 & 4 so I can have the entire (uncensored) experience.

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Sopranos starts tonight! (4/25/2007 8:15:59 PM)

I don't recall the need for Damamine during Sopranos, but I really didn't like that whole wiggling camera thing in other shows. They use it in action pictures to try to energize things, but sometimes I just want them to hold still so I can see what is going on. Batman Begins was one of those movies where I just wanted to get a better look when he was fighting.

Or are you just referring to all the aquatic antics?
