i think it depends on the area of the country you live in. i live in montana...really only white people here. we have a rather large group for a state that doesn't have a lot of people in it. i will be going to Thunder in the Mountains in Denver in July...so i'll have to let you know after i get back.

i live in Chicago and haven't sought and/or attended any munches here. not saying i'm not interested in going or would feel out of place because i probably would be the only Black person there (so used to that covering rock concerts when i'm the only Black woman in attendance) - haven't actively googled to find one to attend. it would have to depend on when, where and how my schedule looks for me to attend a munch.

ahhhhhh the joys of Los Angeles. it's not just the shopping and the fabulous weather, folks...it's the little things like this: http://www.cirquedesade.com/html/about_us.html (check out the gallery!!!!) that make braving the parking lots affectionately referred to as freeways to attend events worthwhile. as has been reported about NYC, there are so many groups and munches to enjoy the company of folks here, there is something going on (munch,event,etc.) almost every night of any given week, depending on how far one travels the LA freeways. also, there are those who group together due to shared interests or orientations who hold their own munches, events, play parties--some even have their own private play-spaces. if only we had a subway system like they do in NYC...[:)]
