I'm currently alone. I've met some ladies off of the internet, but I'm striking out there lately. I don't drink, so I'm not really into the bar scene. So here I am on Friday night wanting to meet someone and not really knowing where to start. My mom will suggest I go to church and meet a nice girl. I'm not really wanting to go to church. I want a naughty nice girl. Maybe chuch is filled with chicks wanting to have their ass spanked, but I'm thinking they are already married or seeing someone.

If you aren't in the bar scene, where the hell do you go to meet someone?

Get a hobby that meets as a group. Ballroom dancing, take a class or something.  Volunteer at a shelter or with animals -- you meet great, big hearted people that way.

i agree with akasha's post.

we also have two shisha bars here, and i enjoy going there because it's not a big drinking scene.

The internet? Go to myspace, craigslist? Perhaps you could get political, volunteer for something you care about, or take up health hobbies like hiking? There are all sorts of ways to make new friends and you are 10 times more likely to meet someone through a common interest than in a bar... my two cents

Movies is the most common, a bdsm party, new shops we haven't been to yet, festivals, new restaurants, bowling, long drives with good CDs, ice creams and walks.

And check out meetup.com

Might sound dorky, but I just sit at home and play World of Warcraft. I'd rather spend my friday evening having fun at home than out drinking and partying or even trying to meet people through other avenues. I'm sort of a recluse...going out into the real world is a little scary :P

I don't really have a good answer for you ... but tonight will be the last time I hit a club on Good Friday. I really thought it was just going to be another night, but it was dead, dead, dead ...

Speed skating! :D  In all seriousness, the only people you usually meet while out 'blading are vanilla people...but that's usually the type you meet at bars, anyway. :)  Besides, if you don't meet someone, you don't go home empty handed; you've just spent however long you've been out, exercising.  Yes, I know, I have no life, lol.

i just don't get world of warcraft.

mind you, i was for years a mud addict and still get into them every now and then. i've also done msg board rp for years. i'm not a stranger to rpgs.

maybe it's the graphics. i just couldn't get into it when i tried to play. everyone was all "you'll get so addicted" and i was disappointed because i didn't. :(

This is going to sound stupid, but ...

I have a friend that plays softball on a women's team. I go to her games at this big mega-sports complex, with softball, beach volleyball, etc ...

For whatever reason, you get hit on a lot there ... so I guess it's a good place to hook up.

I just got home from dancing.  Had a blast.  Danced with two dozen women.  Was only hit on once, but I did what I always do which is not respond to it.  I just wanted to dance.

I started dancing two years ago when I realized that I was lonely, and sitting home on the computer was just making me feel more lonely.

Go figure.

Log off, go do something you enjoy doing, take a class at a local adult school.  You will eventually meet somebody you will want to ask out.

Strange as it sounds, before I was married, I got hit on more than a few times while grocery shopping on week-ends. Now that I am older, it happens less often, but still occasionally.

Tip: The lonely singles are the ones that have things like just Peanut Butter in their carts. If seeking single females, I'd also check their carts for things like "Lean Cusine" frozen dinners, with diet soda, etc.

People never seem to watch where they are pushing their carts, and I'd take advantage of that, if you saw someone interesting, and just let them bump into you (literally) and then they'll apologize, and you can just start a conversation.

Maybe you can even "accidentally" bump into their grocery cart, too. Good luck.
